Hi,
I have been trying to find the best resource for therapy, and was directed towards a cognitive behavior therapist in my area who specializes in ED's. They have an "intensive outpatient treatment" that involves **** weeks of group therapy, meeting **** hours/day **** days/week.
Has anyone participated in anything like this, or this particular one...it is called New Beginnnings (in NC), and the therapist w/ whom I spoke said it is truly wonderful and has helped many whom traditional therapy/treatment has failed. My problem is, that I dont' know if I can commit to the **** hours per week, w/ my husband's schedule and my two kids starting back to school in teh middle of the **** week session. I think it meets mornings, like from **** to ****, or something, which would be a very difficult time w/ getting kids to school, or trying to get a sitter before they start school, etc. My husband cannot help at that time of day, either...so..
I will be speaking w/ the therapist one-on-one for an "intake" session next week, and am just wondering if you all have any ideas what questions to ask re: the therapy, etc. I really need to get some sort of help, but wonder if one on one, traditional therapy may be a better option at this time, considering my scheduling and time commitment problems. The group/program is geared towards people w/ all types of eating/body image disorders, as well as victims of trauma/abuse. Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks, and take care!
