As the MSN article states: Senators who who want to avoid casting election-year votes on the amendment, one way or the other, will vote against cloture and it seems unlikely that Frist will be able to muster the (sixty) votes needed to invoke cloture and allow a vote on the amendment.

The point of having politicians if they do this is?

The purpose, it would seem, would be to avoid a vote during this election year. I know I would personally like to know where politicians stand on this issue. I will find it interesting to see which politicians don't want to take a stand. Of course I realize there will be arguments for their vote. MSN has an interesting article. I want politicians running our country who are willing to TAKE A STAND (regardless of their actual stance)!

:ugh :reallymad
A politician willing to put his money where his mouth is???? No way. And politicians wonder why the voters don't trust them and ultimately don't vote. We vote them into office to do things....not sit on thier hands. Disgusting.
