wake up call

hey fishies i've been visiting this forum for about a month now, and today i had the biggest wake up call. i went to the local make up store and decided to have someone help me with foundation and she noticed my skin wasn't as good as it could be (im eighteen) and suggested that i should go see someone about it. I was wondering does being bulimic effect your skin? I've been like this for a year and i've decided to really put full effort into giving it up, life is too short to worry about weight and appearence i should just focus on how lucky i am to be alive and happy =)

bulimia DOES affect your body. i'd really urge you to go see a doctor so that you can ask about the skin thing, but also, to talk about ed stuff in general. have you talked to a doctor about it before? are you going to a therapist? i guess i'd take this "wake up call" as a sign that maybe you should get some more help?

i know all those things are super hard to do, and i'm sorry if this is coming across as preachy. sometimes someone else expressing concern can be a helpful nudge in thinking about what steps you can take now to take care of yourself.

hey hun,
i've been to a dentist, doctor and therapist about it (saw the therapist for **** weeks) i cancelled my last session because i had to start work early (bad i know...) im sick to death of treating my body like this! it is a serious problem , even though half the time i always think that i am not sick enough and that maybe i shouldnt even go to a therapist.... but im definently seeing a skin person next time i get a week off from work =) Best thing i've ever done is taken a gap year this year! dont know where i'd be otherwise.. anyways does anyone here use msn chat here? if so add me!
