I wanted to let you all know about an important CA Mental Health Bill that's going to be on the ballot in November.

As I understand it, the bill would tax those households earning over one million dollars per year in income, at a rate of one percent tax, to fund essential mental health services in California.

Mental health services in Ca are really in danger now and many counties are having layoffs and cuts in services.

Folks have worked really hard to get the required number of signatures to get it on the ballot in November.

Here's more about the bill:

Please consider supporting this bill! If you like the bill, one good way to support it is to talk to people you know about it.

While I see a need for more mental health coverage in my home state, I don't think the "Robin Hood" approach is the proper way to do it. I mean, if we need the money so badly, why not tax everyone?

One percent of one's income doesn't seem that much. However, one percent of one million dollars is ten thousand dollars! I'm sure a quarter percent increase in the sales tax for this purpose would bring in more than this proposed tax!

BTW, I'm not rich nor republican by any stretch of the imagination. :winky

Good to CU too!

I'm really busy in my last semester of graduate school, getting out in about **** weeks. Very stressful, hardly here.

Some progress on the ed front, which is nice!

How are you? Are you still in school?

Love
