Egg Projectile Therapy is Back!!

We're at it again!
Hopalong, Artie, and I did more Egg Projectile Therapy tonight!! It was Artie's first time!!

For those of you who aren't familiar with EPT.....
This was invented my me and Katie's therapist last year as a way to release frustrations :ugh and anger :mad. What ya do is, get a flat of eggs, or a few dozen, and throw them at your bathtub or fence.
There are lots of ways to throw eggs. Hard, soft, overhand, underhand, behind you, in front of you, off to the side. The possibilities are endless!
I used to have very scientific notes as to the possibilities of EPT (If anyone remembers any of them, please list them!! help me out!)

The point is to A)throw them as hard as you need to B)get your feelings out.

My T and I are going to be on Oprah someday.
Oh and the first "EPT Day" is going to be October second

Many, many :fishyies have joined in egg projectile therapy in the past year. If you have ever done EPT, PLEASE add your observations, notes, and joys of EPT here.

:ugh The bad part about EPT is that it can be extremely messy. Like tonight me, Katie, and Cameryn were trying to clean out my shower and SOMEONE (:bug) turned the shower on me and got me all wet!! :cheesy Hee hee hee a certain Katie needs to be watching her back... jesla is feeling vengeful. :sarcasm

And of course, you will be taking a shower weeks later and still stepping on pieces of egg shells, or peering up at the ceiling and find dried egg yolk.
But the thing is, Egg Projectile Therapy is worth the mess!!!

One thing that we did that made EPT especially great for releasing feelings it that we DEDICATED each egg before throwing it!

this sounds like such a great idea. i can't wait to try it. i wish i had a backyard (live in an apartment...) b/c i don't think my bathtub will do justice for all of the eggs i want to throw. my boyfriend suggested going to a forest preserve to do it. his therapist had him draw faces of the people who caused him pain on two by fours and go to a forest preserve and pound the hell out of them. (must be a guy thing...eggs sound so much better and more fun to me...) so we are going to do it together--couples therapy. :grin i will let you know how it goes.

Our backyard backs up to state owned property, which extends down about a mile and borders a lake...

No one was home the other day so I took a couple of eggs and walked waaaay down and did EPT on trees :supergrin

Hey there honey,

It's so funny. I remembered your first EPT post around the end of last year when I was having some serious emotional shit go on. I had just had a HUGE fight with my boyfriend (I threw my shoes at him!) and was so stressed/hating myself. And he was calming me down and I suddenly said "honey all I want to do is just go throw some eggs."

So we went and got a huge flat of eggs and I went to a big brick wall in downtown Los Angeles and threw them at the wall and screamed and cried and laughed and watched them break and then sped away feeling a bit lighter inside.

Thanks dear. It really did help. And it taught me to focus on the individual feelings because I tried to dedicate an egg to each of them and to each of my frustrations.

Hmmm...I was thinking tonight, and decided that for those :fishyies who are denied the opportunity to throw eggs for various reasons, :balloonswater balloons:balloons might be an alternative!:supergrin Not nearly as rewarding as eggs, but close enough!

Egg Throwing Notes.

A. Where is the best place to throw eggs? Backyard gets you a better trajectory. Bathtub is easier to clean up.
B. You will feel silly at first.
C. You will ponder the fact that your therapist is just a big goofball and needs therapy herself. :cheesy
D. You will realize that this is a LOT of fun. :bounce
E. Eggs thrown at a ninety degree angle splat louder but the egg parts fly only three feet.
F. Eggs thrown at a sixty degree angle, upwards, splat softer but the egg parts fly farther (seven feet) and in more directions!! :hairy
G. Eggs foam a lot when you spray them with a water hose to clean them up.
H. Keep dogs out of the backyard when throwing eggs!! :dog
I. Two and a half dozen eggs disappear very quickly. Be sure to have more on hand.
J. "Splut!" is a :cool sound.
K. This is great with a friend to yell with and do this with.
L. I cannot hit a target when I throw behind me.
M. Yellining might be fun too.
N. Its fun if you pretend your target is someone you hate. :bounce
O. Its fun to watch things break!! :sarcasm
P. Make sure there are no neighbors in their backyards watching you. :shy

Egg shells are very hard to clean out of the bathtub drain.!! :ugh
Then took a shower with six inches of water at my feet that night. Then ended up digging egg shells out with a pair of tweezers.

Maybe when no one else is home...hehehe.:sarcasm Usually I just pick up the plums from our tree (we have a plum tree that exists only to drop every single plum on the ground before they get ripe enough to eat) and throw them either at our back fence, at trees, or into the creek or at the big rocks.:supergrin Sometimes they go splat too!

YEAH!!!!!!!!! this sounds awesome!!!!! i'm gonna have to find somewhere to throw, though...i live on a college campus and i have to say that my fellow residents wouldn't enjoy eggs in their bathtubs or on their trees. Maybe I'll try ice...but eggs are in the future!!!!!!!!!

something else you can do is take a permanent marker, and write on the egg the thing you are throwing it for--- like right "dad" or "mom" or "my boss being a jerk yesterday" or "i hate eating disorders" "I hate the size tags in jeans" etc. this can be helpful too. :supergrin

I remember EPT with you Jesla!!! I also remember mum complaining a week or two that there were egg shells floating in her bath. My new house doesn't have a bath so i'm trying to work out a system with the shower cos t get any real strength and emotion into it i have to do the equivalent of a tennis drop shot you know where it heads to the net real fact then just plummets?!!!! Makes for a messy bathroom!! LOL

I still have tiny bits of egg yolk and egg shells hanging from my ceiling about my shower...when i wear my contacts in the shower, i can see all these little stalagtites of eggs.... they are from TWO YEARS AGO!! :ohboy

That does sound like fun. My old T and I went to a greek shop and bought plates for about a quarter each. It's tradition in greek weddings to smash plates. We bought twenty dollars worth(canadian money...so about $**************** U.S)...

....then...we smashed every single one of them. So much fun.....so therapeutic.

Katie and I went into the woods and threw one hundred twenty eggs today so just had to bump this up. :bounce I STILL have egg shells and egg whites from three years ago on my bathroom ceiling.
