This is from a neat site called www.forthelittleonesinside.com

I thought it might be of help to those of us swimming at the Self Esteem board.

:sun There is no "right way" to be or "right way" to do anything! Be however and do whatever YOU FEEL like - as long as you don't hit or throw things at people or bother people who want to be left alone!

:sun You don't have to do anything you don't want to do (even if "everyone else" is doing it) And, you can stop in the middle of anything you don't want to do anymore!

:sun You don't have to share anything if you don't want to! And, it's absolutely okay not to want to!

:sun The only one you need to take care of or "be the Mommy to" is yourself!

:sun Be as gentle and loving with yourself as you possibly can. Always give yourself the benefit of the doubt and avoid criticizing yourself. If you can't avoid criticizing yourself, at least avoid criticizing yourself for criticizing yourself!

:sun If you don't see what you want/need, don't "make do" - ASK for it!

:sun If anyone is bothering you, tell them you want them to stop it!

:sun If you feel sad, it's okay to cry; if you feel angry, it's okay to growl, yell or stamp your feet; if you feel scared, it's okay to slow down or to stop and rest.

:sun Remember to breath into your belly, it makes everything feel better.

:sun If you feel tired, curl up and take a nap!

All of those were fantastic!
You don't have to share anything if you don't want to! And, it's absolutely okay not to want to
That's a biggie for me. I often feel like I have to explain myself, justify my actions and reveal or share why I do a certain thing to others if they ask. This freedom was a big revelation to me. I just don't have to!:supergrin

Pella,

that is a wonderful site you suggested. The bill of rights always helps me. Sometimes I just need to write a new list, it is a very empowering experience for me.
