Hey there all the :fishy in the :bowl!
I was watching mass on television today, and the priest said something really meaningful about prayer. He said that we all think if God loves us, we don't need to ask for what we want. But the truth is, that God gives us so many blessings every day that we take for granted. He said "how many of us woke up this morning praying 'God, please let me be able to walk today' or 'Please let me see today' or "Let me be able to hear what my family is saying to me'. Some things God wants us to ask for. So, if he doesn't answer your prayers right away, he's still listening, and he does care. He has everything in control, and he loves us all. You can't change God's mind about what's going to happen, but you can ask him for guidance. This really helped me realize what prayer and blessings were all about. I hope some other fishys read this and it moves them as it did me!

Dramadiva-
That is an encouraging thought! Even though sometimes it's hard to trust God, I know that he is in control and that everything "bad" that is happening now will work out for the better eventually!

I know I can take the good things in my life for granted.

What I like to do, but don't do as often as I would like, is remember the things I am grateful for and thank God for them.

This can help sometimes with depression, but only if I am not feeling guilty that I am not feeling grateful if you see what I mean.

The greatest blessing in my life is the great friends I have.

Thanks so much for that post. It really made me think about all the things that I take for granted. I am so thankful for so many things, yet I forget to be thankful for some of the really important things that I use/need every single day.
