:trigger (just in case)This is a poem about being consumed by an ed, about emotions being stolen from you and about the senseless despair.
the solitary tear
have you seen the solitary tear
fallen from frozen eyes?
the rock is crumbling and fading,
its all been part of the lie
no mask to cover the wrinkles
light shatters the ageing skin
scars of sights and sounds
of all the tears within
harsh words of conversation
don't hurt the blunt and bold
but they freeze the sensitive heart
they make my world feel cold
words only show the anger
of the tears you'll never see
emotions buried deeply
in a rough and raging sea
and the waves wildly crash
against the drifting raft
inflicting without feeling
the pain to the human heart
but not a tear at all
its taken in its stride
only the pain of feeling
there's nothing left inside
