song of silence (for sarah)

what was I supposed to do?

Young and in love

Affection replaced by violence

Captured by your seduction

I had no words

Your hands journeyed into sacred places

To commit the ultimate violation

Of my trust

I could not know…

There was no way

To speak out against you

In a world full of judgement and laughter.

Later still I self-destruct

Denying the earthly temptations

Starving for the numbness

That makes me forget

Until the mask begins to fall away

In pieces,

To expose the struggle beneath

-i wrote abt my experience of rape by my ex-girlfriend. i just needed to get it out. what do :fishy think? i've never posted here before.

I think it is very expressive. I just wanted to cry. I felt in tune to your words and I thank you for sharing. I haven't been through rape, but I was molested and the thing of silence still haunts me. thank you.

I thought that your poem was great. It takes a lot of guts to share things like that and to share things that have deeply hurt us. I could relate completely but I know how it is to be abused. Know you can live your life and move on. God is there for you ************%.
