winter tears

my tears fell into the
middle of winter,

like clockwork.

they swept right through
paradise like a
hail storm anchoring
from
mayhem’s rapture
to
tranquilities woes,

fallen, fallen, gone.

mistaken sentiments
for nature’s foreseen calling—
soft and silver lightness
caressing the wind
which eventually disappears
into snow
lying reluctantly to the ground,

apocalypse.

a journey’s end
to a dreamer’s weeping.

Lilthought-

I think it's awesome that so many people share their work here... I too will be brave enough to do that... some day.

I liked your poem... the comparison of tears to rain is pretty common, but you gave it a new twist here which I thought was great! "Mayhem's rapture to tranquilities' woes" is a cool line as well. :yay

What poets do you like to read? I ask because I recently became interested in poetry... I've been reading quite a bit but still have trouble writing it. Any advice or recommended authors? I wrote some of my faves in another post (I feel bad turning people's poetry threads into me talking about my own interests, so I won't do that here:winky).

Wow, the more I read this poem the more I like it... Thanks again for sharing that part of yourself with us... I look forward to reading more of your poetry!:happy
