A New Language

It’s not as simple as
it seems—
to write on air;
make words breathe;
in and out;
inhalation
followed by an aching cry of
exhalation;
to strum music out of silence
from the beating of
your own drum;

a “pish posh” swooshing forth
from a wispy willowy spirit,
moseying to and fro—
from beginning to end;
to the land of deep rebellion.

to give life;
to create;
spawn offspring
onto paper;
to filtrate;
to fabricate
an emotion so as to
be born again
into infancy;
a rebirth of meticulous
thoughts with no name in mind;

a language all of your own:
untaught, virtuous, chaste, innocent,
and yours alone—from head to toe;
intensity beyond any horizon;
it can’t be won.

Thank you... that means a lot to me. I am really struggling right now and I've been keeping it a silent... by myself... no one loves me sort of way and writing is the only thing I have to try to express how I feel without an ed language... I need emotion out of the ed because the ed takes up all of my energy and time that all thats left are some words on a paper... words that are mine... and not my ed's. Thank you so much. It felt good. And thank you to everyone else who has graciously replied to my poetry. I never reply because I'm usually speechless... imagine that.

Nice job! I like the rhythms you used... they're varied but always capture the spirit of the words. You're a good writer!
