I was just wondering how many nurses are there in the bowl. I just graduated and took boards in Aug and I still find it hard to get used to. Thanks

Well, I am not a nurse (actually a flight attendant :plane), but I have been thinking for the past year of going to nursing school. I know there are a few nurse:fishys in the :bowl.
Anyway, I already have a B.A. so I'm thinking of doing the accelerated/second bachelors program that takes a year. They usually start in May, but I will have to go a year from May since I need some science classes first.
I know for each person its different, but I could see how this job could be a trigger (all of the stress, weird hours)~I say that since my job now can be a big trigger for me w/ out a steady routine.
I would love to hear from any other nurse:fishys!
I remember when you passed your boards, Brandy. You should be so proud of yourself :winky~its a huge accomplishment. Best of :clover!

brandy, i'm a nurse also. i graduated and passed the state board exam in nineteen ninety five, worked for less than six months, then left the field and worked at home doing accounting and other labor from my home computer. i just returned to the profession this past november and am very overwhelmed with working to remember what i have learned and taking seven patient teams. i ask a lot of questions of the available nursing staff. i hope things are going well for you. take care.

This is a really great topic!
I 'm a CNA (certified nursing assistant) and I went to school for that certification after trying a month at licensed practical nursing school. There was so much to know in so little time, and so I dropped out. I think I will go back though. Working as a nurses aide is very hard and taxing so I'm wondering if I would like working as a nurse better.

I'm a nursing student from Norway. Thinking about becoming a emergency and trauma-nurse!

Thanks! I didn't know that there were som any :fishy looking into nursing or that are in the field already. I :love it so much, But I find that it tends to drain so much out of me when I work more than three twelve hours in a row.
