Do you have a pet project or hobby right now? A sport, or an arts-n-crafts type of thing, or some DIY-work around the house? I just discovered something called 'alternate reality gaming' that I'm really excited about! Gives me something to occupy my time besides school and the ED...

Luv ya,

Good question Lynda!
Unfortunately I don't get into crafts and I've been so wrapped up in my recovery work that I just haven't spent much time having fun. But it was suggested in the partial hospitalization program I was in in July that we write a schedule for our day and that we make sure to set aside some time every day for doing something fun. I just revised my schedule and I set aside an hour and a half every day to spend here on this website because it's something that I really enjoy doing.

If anyone does try the scheduling concept, make sure you remember to be flexible as things do come up that will interupt your schedule. It's intended to be used as a guide only to help you structure your time if you need to. I need to because I get overwhelmed very easily and when that happens I tend to shut down and do nothing.

I am actually beginning to write a book. :surprise It's a mighty slow process, but I am actually enjoying it. :supergrin It's more or less going to be an autobiography of my life :sly...specifically my battle with the eating disorder and depression, and what I've learned during my journey to recover.

I must ask, what is alternate reality gaming? I have never heard of it and the name sounds intriguing (spelled wrong :ummm)

Anyway, there are a lot of things that I like to do, but lately my motivation level has been zero to none. Some stuff that I do is make art on my computer. I have a lot of art programs, so I make a lot of cards, stickers, decals, and pictures on my computer. Then, I laminate them and, most of the time just give them as gifts.
I also do a lot of house cleaning. I know that probably sounds like more of a chore than a project, but I actually enjoy it. I am a little obsessive when it comes to organizing things.

Decorating..That's a biggy for me. I am always rearranging things. I have two closets in my room that are filled with stuff I haven't seen in years. Sometimes I go through that and decorate my shelves. Always buying new stuff to put up.
I also make c.d.'s and then make the covers for them with my computer.
I used to do tons of collaging, but I haven't in a while.
I love to paint and color.
The project that I am currently working on is more of a "must do" rather than a "hobby". I am working/procrastinating on my thesis for graduation in May. The topic is really interesting, so that makes it more bearable. And, I am looking for a job :ugh

I have several projects going right now but my favourite would be my zine- L'ananas is my baby. It's just a little personal zine, but it keeps me sane and I work on it all the time. I always have a notebook with me to jot ideas/write rants/doodle whatever in.

I'm also trying to start up a business, so I do that a lot too.

Hi! :love

Right now I am taking plain wooden birdhouses and decorating them with rub-on transfers and paint. I did one with a USA theme, an ivy theme, and a flower theme. They are turning out really cute.

I'm also into making hemp necklaces for friends!

Much love,
