What do you like about music? Maybe you dont even like music but for those who do.... I realized why i like the music i like so much and now i appreciate it even more than i did before! I realized the music that i like is the music that i was listening to/the music that reminds me of the people that i love most! :love also the violin is one of my talents, its something i can really feel great about! now everytime i hear my favorite songs i think about those that i love most, i only get to see them about once every two months... but i feel great and it makes me feel good about myself, maybe it can work for someone else too!! so if you ever are feeling down, just listen to the tunes that remind you of who you love and nothin seems to matter anymore. Thats how it is for me... what do those :notes tunes :notes mean to you???

Well, I spent four years doing a performance degree at music college on violin ... so you could say I kinda like music a little!! :muhaha

I'm not sure I could say why though ... I used to be able to just enjoy it, but now, the whole analytical thing has been pushed down my throat so much throughout my training that I don't seem able to listen to music anymore without automatically breaking it down and analysing the harmonies!!!!

But I have to admit ... there's nothing better than screaming the words along to something really loud and funky to help ya feel better!

Hey, nice question...

I'm a music student too... A jazz guitarist, and a self-taught pianist (umm... sorta... I'm not all that good though:winky).

Why do I love music... I think sometimes chords and melody and rhythm can say things that are beyond words. My music teacher was talking about this one time... how people may say that the message or emotion behind music is hard to put into words because it's too vague... then he said, maybe it's actually too specific- maybe words just can't describe a feeling as accurately as music can. I think music is a very pure form of communication. Anyone can understand it (to a degree at least, depending on what it is- I don't know that everyone "understands" something like bebop or twentieth century classical).
To me, music is like the greatest drug in the world (not that I've tried very many, lol)... it can pick me up, make me think, smile, sing, cry, dance... I really love to dance.:happy That's another great thing about music.

my tastes in music are all over the place.
certain songs can send a chill down my spine when the passion put forth by the musicians practically oozes out of my stereo speakers.

for this reason i'm a really big punk fan. but i find that i also like opera (my dad forced me to listen to it when i was little and i resisted with all my might. Dammit, you win dad :supergrin )

i really base my musical tastes on feelings.

that's why i love music
