Since this forum has changed i thought i would share my poem that I had published earlier in the year. Its meant to be about finding your own identity and creating your own path in the world....Life beyond the garden is a metaphor for life without an ed, where we are free to be ourselves, to live with our emotions in a positive way and to enjoy our lives

PETALS IN THE WIND

We live our lives in fury
A race against the clock
We hide our hearts in boxes
With sturdy heavy locks

Wrapped in blankets of security
Until the storm begins
When each of us takes separate paths
Like petals in the wind

Drifting along quite peacefully
Or buffeted from the force
Petals become fragments of flowers
And follow a different course

Life beyond the garden fence
Feels both warm and cold
As drifting petals search for meanings
The garden didn't hold

No longer flower fragments
We all find our place to settle
Transforming beyond the gardens hold
Into individual windblown petals

FK TWO THOUSAND AND TWO

Thankyou. I'm really glad you liked my poem. I encourage you to write yourself because having a love of poetry is a special thing and finding your own voice through poetry can be very healing and expressive.

There's a quote that goes something like

We use prose to say what we want to say, we use poetry for what needs to be said.
