I remember in elementary, my friends and I would always watch Full House and be like "I'm Stephanie!!! I'm D.J!!!" and then watch like we're those people

Although I don't remember ever pretending to be a person, I always found myself relating to the girls the best. Well...except when the girls were bossy, such as Margaret in the (really dumb) "Dennis the Menace" cartoon.
The other two characters that I related to both had to do with my name. With my given name of Rebecca, I went through the Becky-Rebecca-Becca stage. (Anyone else?) In elementary school I was Becky, same as my best friend, until fifth grade. I decided then it was too confusing to have two people so close with the same name, so I changed to Rebecca. (Woe to anyone who accidentally called me Becky!)
After falling in love with the show "Life Goes On," and moving on to a high school with mostly strangers, I decided that I was going to be Becca. It has stuck ever since, except when I am in professional situations, and when I substitute teach back in my elementary school!
I don't know if anyone remembers the cartoon "Talespin," but there was a character named Rebecca Cunningham. Balloo, the main character, always called her Becky. In one show, she decided she wanted to be called Rebecca. Balloo kept getting it wrong, calling her Becky, and she kept correcting him. By the end of the show, when Balloo saved her, he referred to her as Rebecca. She smiled, gave Balloo a hug, and of course, said...
"Call me Becky."
Okay, I'm rambling. Those were the two characters I related to most! :)

My four year old has decided that we are the Monsters, Inc. characters. She is Sully. The baby is Boo, and I am Mike. She loves to wake me up and say, "Good morning, Mike!"

I did that too. My twin sister and I loved Full House and we shared a room so it was kinda neat. I always wanted to be Stephanie, but she wouldn't let me, so I was DJ :muhaha
Hehe that's funny now that I think about that.

I used to try to be elizabeth from sweet valley high when i was about eleven-i remember watching it one morning with my sister and for the rest of the day i tried to copy her accent (im english), until my mum asked me why i was talking so weirdly :sarcasm -not that your accents are weird, just that i cant do it! lol
the other one i tried to copy was 'the animals of farthing wood'-i think that was only an english thing-i used to have to be fox! I must have looked so silly...we all used to play it at school. Yes Katy, of course you make a good fox...

My brother and I used to play Inspector Gadget!
I was Penny, and he was Brain (the dog)
My father would usually be Inspector Gadget but we wouldn't tell him he was Inspector Gadget.
It was so much fun!!

You're just weird :sarcasm
My brothers and I would pretend to be the Partridge Family. I always had to be Tracy and I hated that (I grew up in the seventies). We would also pretend to be the Osmond Family.
TV was my escape as a child and I was always drawn to shows where there was one parent, step-parents or orphans. So, Brady Bunch, Partridge Family, Eight is Enough, Family, Courtship of Eddie's Father, Family Affair...all those shows appealed to me and I used to pretend (in my head, not acting it out) that I was one of the kids who had the loving parent. That is, I was 'saved', like the kids in the show, and then grew up in a loving home.
So, if you're weird then I'm weird, too! :sarcasm

What a fun thread! :supergrin
I also loved "Life Goes On". I wanted Patti Lupone to be my mother (as Patti Lupone but also as the character she played) I loved the show, too, because my brother has severe CP and I could relate to Corky's struggles.
Tyne Daly is another - I watched Cagney and Lacey religiously. I'm so glad she is on Judging Amy now - I get to relive my childhood fantasy :muhaha
Too funny.
