Anyone else wonder what other :fishy ies do with their days? :bounce

I invite everyone to walk us through twenty-four hours of your life. :hairy

For me, if I'm working overnight, my day looks like this....

I show up at my ambulance station at noon the day before. I spend the next twenty four hours on an ambulance with my partner. We do all sorts of trips, from medical emergencies, to routine dialysis transports, to hospital discharges to nursing homes, to interfacility transports (a patient going to a different hospital because they can better treat him/her there).

I see a lot in the field, and I'm usually full of stories, funny and sad, about emergency medicine.

At the next day at noon, after twenty four hours (hopefully an hour of sleep in there somewhere), I clock out, change clothes, hop in my car, and drive across town to my college, where I have classes until eight in the evening. Then I finally get to come home, and see my boyfriend!! Thats definitely the highlight of my day. He and I usually have dinner together, and then we rapidly end up in bed, fast asleep (his days are just as busy and tiring as mine, he's a first year pediatrician).

So... thats my day :) hows yours?

Aurora Rose, thanks for the work you do as a paramedic. My baby has been transported by ambulance many times and paramedics are real heroes around our household. That's what my four year old wants to be when she grows up :happy.

My typical day (if there is a typical with two small kids!). . . .

My girls are my alarm clock - we're up at seven most days. Then it's time for baths, breakfast, and the baby's medicines. About half the time we have doctor's appointments or therapy for the baby. One the days I don't have that I get an hour or so of work in while the kids play. I work from home and set my own schedule! After lunch, my four year old is off to preschool and the baby gets a nap. That gives me three more hours to work. After I get my daughter from school we do something fun - the park, games, a project. We have dinner and then clean the house before Bible time and bed. By ****:******** the girls are in bed. I get an hour or so to myself, and then work a few more hours.

Of course any time the phone could ring and the social worker could bring another baby by for us to keep for a day or a year or longer. Then the schedule changes at a moments notice. Flexibility is the key in it all!

What a cool :idea for a post!

My day starts early :sleepy when we get up, get the kids up, dressed & fed, and hit the road. I drop my youngest off and then head to work. I work in PR at my alma mater. It's a fun job and I enjoy it. After work, I pick up the baby and head home to meet the rest of the family. We catch up on everyone's day, eat dinner and then we try to do something fun if homework and various practices, etc. don't conflict. After we get the kids down to bed, my hubby and I get a little time together alone :cheesy to hang out, read or watch a movie before we crash.

It may sound boring, but it's my life and I :love it! :cheesy :bounce

wow, cool topic!
Well, here it is. i get up early :sleepy, hurry up, get dressed, grab a quick breakfast, and run out the door to catch the bus. The bus gets to school almost an hour before school starts, so i then join my friends at our table, to pretty much go back to sleep, haha, then try to wake up all the way and hurry off to class. In class, do work and talk, talk, talk, then get yelled at for talking. haha. I'm sorry, but i am a very social person, i get my work done, so what's the problem! but that's not the point. Between classes, catch up with friends and pass notes. After school, run to catch the school bus AGAIN, then sit on the bus waiting for my stop, the LAST stop to come. Usually listening to some sort of music. Then FINALLY come home and get online to yet again talk some MORE. haha. watch tv. Then the piles and piles of homework. then catch up on my favorite shows, and off to bed to read until i NEED to get to sleep to get at least some sleep. I usually have a cat come up, and lay with me, until i'm asleep too, then, a whole nother day! may not sound TOO eventful, but hey, it's me!

Great post!!
I wake up early go to class, then normally I have one class to teach and I take the bus and go to my studen't's house. Now that is the end of the semester here, normally I go to one house to another to teach.. And then by the time I get home, I am so tired, and sometimes I need to study... Sometimes my days are so boring :umm. I am changing that. Need to have more fun :sarcarm. Cause I am not a :robot
Sometimes I go to the gym, to take an ioga class, and therapy!!
That's me :winky

During the week, I get up at nine or ten, depending on when my classes begin for the day. I am in classes until one thirty MTW, two thirty on Th and I have chem lab untl four on Friday. After classes I come back, check my e-mail, IM for a bit, maybe get together with my mom, work some more, IM and then go to bed around two or three on a good night, five or six on a bad night :sad

Twenty four hours (maybe a few more) in the life of me...beginning this past Saturday, mid-afternoon...

:starsThree-thirty pm: I took a jazz class, then walked home and took a shower, did some work, played on the computer, read, got ready for bed, played with the cat.:happy

:starsOne-thirty am: My roommate came home from closing night of Romeo & Juliet and striking the set, and talked me into going to the cast party with her. Got dressed again and set to go out, walked to the party.:surprise

:starsTwo am: Arrived at the cast party. Talked, drank, danced, etc.:supergrin

:starsEight-fifteen am: Arrived home (not drunk yet not quite sober:winky), checked email, crawled into bed.:sleepy

:starsTwo pm: Got out of bed (but not out of pj's:grin), our friend Adam came over, did a bit of reading.:happy

:starsFour-fifteen pm: My boss from the theatre called saying someone cancelled and would either my roommate or I be able to come in to work. Get dressed in record time.:sarcasm

:starsFive pm: Arrive at the theatre to work front of house and usher at this Russian play (in Russian - no, I don't speak Russian).:ohboy

:starsNine-forty-five pm: Arrive home, discuss Russian and Serbian plays with my roommate (she worked a Serbian play a couple weeks ago). Get ready for bed (again:sarcasm).:sleepy

Please note: This is NOT a typical twenty four hours in the life of Sarah.:muhaha I don't really have a "typical day" at the moment because lots of things are going on. It would go something like this though...

:starsEight/nine/ten am: Drag myself out of bed, rush to get dressed, rush to the bus.

:starsTen/eleven am: Sit in lectures for a few hours, do anything else I need to do on campus.

:starsFive/six pm: Come home, check mail, change into comfy clothes, do a bit of work, play on the computer, play with the cat, make some phone calls, maybe watch TV, maybe go out with friends. Dance class, depending on the day.

:starsEleven pm/midnight: Get ready for bed.

:starsOne/two am: Actually go to bed.

And soon my typical day will be...

:starsSix-thirty am: Get up, get dressed for dance class, put my hair up, walk to subway station/bus stop, get on my way to school.

:starsSeven-forty-five am: Arrive at school, put my stuff away, chat.

:starsEight am: Ballet or jazz class, followed by a day of acting and singing classes and tutorials.

:starsSix/seven pm: Get home, shower, collapse, do homework, play on the computer, maybe go out with friends.

:starsTen/eleven pm: Get ready for bed.

:starsEleven pm/midnight: Go to bed.

:bounce typical Day!!!

well, actually this is not a good representation as i am headed into treatment in a week. so my days are rather glum lately.

Today though...

i answered the phone twice and the doorbell once before getting out of bed at three pm. (haha). Then i mosied on downstairs and i can't remember what i did until i came back upstairs and wrote some emails and called my mom to say HI at work. Then i ate dinner with the family at six and did not-good stuff til around midnight. Then i took a shower and scrubbed up and started cleaning my room and throwing out junk. Theni got online and talked to some friends.

Wow. thats pathetic. BUT when i get out of treatment, hopefully it will be a lot more exciting and happy filled. :)

I work managing a small rental car company, and a typical week day for me would be:

:sun ****.******** a.m. - wake up, take my darling to work, get home, make breakfast, sit down at my computer and read the local news sites (saves paying for a newspaper subscription), have a shower, get dressed etc.

:sun ****.******** a.m - arrive at work, open up, check the cars haven't been broken into overnight, get any cars due out that morning ready to go, double check that the phone log has been updated to the booking sheet and diary, catch up on my paper work, clean up the cars which arrived back the previous evening or that morning.

:sun ********.******** p.m. - lunch, I get to relax for half an hour provided the phone doesn't ring and no one comes to the door, after lunch I'll make sure I'm right up to date with all my work then get into promoting our business and trying to build our base of regular customers.

:sun ****.******** p.m - I usually finish about now, but it's pretty flexible. Some days I'll finish at ****, other days I'll work untill ****, it really just depends what's going on. Once I get home I play with my cat for half an hour before making dinner. I usually sit down at my computer about now and catch up on whats happening on the forums I read, I'll chat with my friends via irc, or maybe play some games. My cat usually drags me away with him to play some more, then I head for bed about ******** p.m.

:yay what a good post!

Twenty-four hours in the Life of Sue.. Well I pretty much have two sets of days, it all depends on if Chris stayed over or not.. We'll do a day with him..

:stars Set the alarm for eight am..(though Zeek :kitty usually wakes us before then) and then hit snooze two or three times to get more cuddle time :cute (its rare you find a guy that likes to cuddle so much! :winky )

:stars Then we have to rush... I shower and get ready then he showers and gets ready.

:stars while hes showering I feed Zeek :kitty adjust the blinds, make some hot chocolate and put away dishes from the night before (if I hadn't already)

:stars Chris and I walk out together, kiss goodbye and go our separate ways to work

:stars Almost always stop at the Post Office to get the mail for work.and then to Eckard to get my morning Snapple.

:stars get to work a little late (but usually still one of the first to show! :muhaha ). and sit infront of the computer for the rest of the day until lunch. (I work in the front office of a minor league baseball team so the off season is a little slow)

:stars lunch time I come home to relax and see my little :kitty

:stars throughout the day I play with Bandit :dog Our groundskeeper dog that comes to work everyday :yay

:stars Five O'clock rolls around and I am out of there!

:stars Come home to check on Zeek and then go work out

:stars then if Chris is coming over again I'll wait for him to get home and we'll have dinner

:stars after dinner we watch tv or get online and play with Zeek :kitty

:stars then depending on how tired we are our bedtime varies :sly

:drawpink I get up around ten usually. Hearing the mail come through the door is usually my motivator to get up.

:drawgreen I go to take a shower and lounge around in my bath robe for ages, make my bed (it's a bunk-bed :happy), pick-up clothes, etc.

:drawblue Check my email, put my make-up on then dash off to a lecture or whatever. Our campus is about ten minutes drive from our apartment.

:vroom

:drawpink Usually I grab some lunch on campus from the Baguette Express.

:drawgreen I come home and waste lots of time lounging around online and doing goodness knows what. I finally get to bed somewhere around midnight.

That's my life, I'm afraid. Can't say I'm terribly proud of it. :ugh

A day in the life of Lou:

I usually get up around six-thirty am (five thirty if I have an early gym class) and hit the gym.

afterwards, I either come home and have breakfast or head off to uni. If I come home I might crawl back into bed for a bit more sleep :sleepy

During uni, I will have classes until about three pm. but now I am on holidays I may go out with a friend, do some ironing or cleaning, surf the net etc etc

I work three nights a week from five-thirty to eleven-thirty. If I am not working, I will cook dinner for my family.

Not terribly exciting!

I'm usually up at seven thiry, eight at the latest. I feed and walk the dog and then have breakfast. Every day is different. I read, watcha little TV, use the computer, go out and do stuff...whatever. Some days I go downtown to meet my friends and we hang out for a while. I usually watch the news every night and Friends, too. Around nine thirty I get on the computer and go into a private chat room with my friends and talk until about two AM. That is usually when I head off to bed.

Oh, yeah, and I shower and eat at some point in my day. In case you were wondering :sarcasm

Typical day, eh?

I get up around seven or eight am. Shower, get breakfast, and head off to class at either ten or eleven o clock.

I usually grab lunch, and go to more class or go home and get homework done. I also mess around online.

Sometimes I work out in the afternoon too.

Dinner around six, seven or eight, and then to the library or my room for more homework. Usually mess around on this site a bit.

Ten, eleven, twelve pm, I read a book that I like for awhile and then go sleep

Not too exciting I guess

What a fabulous :idea for a topic !!

Let's see during the week a normal day for me is:

:wand Eight AM - get up and get ready to go to my aerobics class, or yoga class

:wand Nine-Ten AM - aerobics/yoga class depending on the day

:wand Three PM - Leave to go to work
:wand FourPM to Midnight - I work ( I work at an eating disorder treatment facility)
:wand One AM - Just getting into bed for the "night".

Now on the weekends it's different. I work from eight am to noon on Saturdays. And then I normally take the rest of the weekend to just RELAX. Watch TV, go on the computer, clean my apartment (sundays), babysit sometimes, hang out with my mom, and since it's the holiday season I will be wrapping Christmas presents this weekend!

My life's not all that exciting, but it keeps me busy.

:stars six thirty or six forty five i roll out of bed and get ready for class.

:stars I am in class from eight until eleven, and then i drive home.

:stars From about eleven thirty until one i have my only down time for the day, and sometimes i am frantically doing homework and other days i come onto the boards.

:stars I work at an infant center from one thirty until five thirty, and then i drive straight back to school for another class

:stars I am in class again from six until eight, or sometimes later as it is a lab class and sometimes i just keep working on my projects.

:stars Around eight thirty i usually make it back home and start homework and a bit of socializing with my roommies, and then head to bed usually between twelve and two for a couple of hours of sleep.

Oh wow are you sure you want to know? :muhaha

Okay...

Kayley wakes me up at around five or five thirty at which time we bring her back to bed with us till "morning" (seven thirty). :sleepy

Seven Forty Five-Adrianna, the little girl I babysit four days a week arrives. Kayley and Adrianna watch cartoons and play while I make breakfast.

Eight AM-Breakfast for the girls. Todd wakes up at around this time. He gets ready while Kayley plays hide and seek with him and I clean up the kitchen and pack his lunch (also drink my coffee).

Nine AM-Todd leaves for work-Kayley and Adrianna play adorably (hopefully without little fights) and I either clean something or play with them.

Approx nine thirty: Adrianna takes her nap and Kayley and I read stories and play (so fun :winky )

twelve thirty: Adrianna wakes up. Kayley and Adrianna play and watch Sesame Street while I make lunch for us.

twelve thirty-twelve forty five-Lunch

One O'clock: Some fun times-usually consisting of chasing the poor cat around the house or looking for her "KITTTTTY CAT WHERE ARRRRRE YOUUUUUUUUU?" :grin

Two O'Clock-Adrianna gets ANOTHER nap (yeah she sleeps a lot) and Kayley and I sit down and read a book and rock in the rocking chair till she gets sleepy or falls asleep.

Two Thirty-Kayley's nap time, both kids sleeping means my exercise time. I usually do one or two tapes - cardio and weight lifting for about an hour.

Three Thirty-I catch the last half of General Hospital (i know pathetic :cheesy) and wait for Adrianna's mom or dad to arrive

Four O'Clock: Adrianna's mom or dad arrive for her and she leaves. Kayley usually wakes up shortly after this.

four thirty to five thirty-Kayley and I may run errands, go grocery shopping, or just hang out till Todd gets home and cooks dinner.

Six O'Clock: Dinner-hopefully todd is home cause it's always better when he is :cute We have a fun family dinner time

Seven O'Clock: Kayley's bathtime-always a load of fun :bounce

Seven Thirty to Eight: We do some wind down playing like reading books and doing puzzels. Usually daddy winds her up again though with a "I'm gonna get you" game :muhaha

Eight O'Clock to Eight Thirty-Kayley goes to bed. I take my shower. Todd and I watch prime time and relax! I usually check my email or surf the net during this time also.

Eleven PM-Bed time

oh dear, this is a toughy....

I get up between five and five thirty AM, as I have trouble sleeping. :sleepy :sad

Shower, breakfast, get dressed, walk to work. I'm at work between six thirty and seven am - seven days a week. :ugh

Try and get a head start on the day. Then if I don't have a medical appointment (I have appointments three mornings per week), the phone starts ringing at about eight thirty AM.

Lunch around noon, either at my desk or with :lovehubby, who works nearby.

Morning & afternoon spent fighting computer fires and/or in meetings and/or working on projects.

I leave work between five and five thirty PM. On a school night I stop home and go straight to school, otherwise I get home and have dinner, typically with hubby.

Evening - watch some TV, read, journal (I do journal during the day, too), do homework, talk to family on the phone. Also, errands, such as grocery store, library, etc.

Bed at nine thirty PM. It's the only way I can hope to get enough :sleepy - anyways, I'm perpetually sleep deprived, and my body just can't stay awake much later than that!

I did enjoy reading about everyone's day so I guess I'll share mine too. I think it helps us all to realize we're all just "regular people" with "regular lives" even though we have problems in common...
I have a cute little alarm clock named Madeline who wakes me up at around ****:******** or ****. Sometimes she sleeps in bed with me and what better way to wake up than with a hug from a cuddly two year old! I work part-time and my schedule varies with the day, but usually I'm out of the house by ****:******** to drop Maddie off at the sitter. I often exercise before work. After work I come home and my husband fixes dinner- it's cool to have a guy that enjoys cooking! We eat and play with Maddie. She has her bath around seven and goes to bed at seven-thirty or eight. I spend some time with my husband talking or watching tv. If he works that night (he's a third shifter) he leaves around eight thirty and I read for a couple hours or get on the computer before going to bed around ********.

A day in the life of me ...

:bug Wake up ... normally very grudgingly :ugh

:bug Get myself all washed, dressed, made-up, and ready to go

:bug Feed Bob :bunny

:bug Leg it to the train ... cus normally I leave so late I've only got five mins to get to the station eight mins away! :ummm The worst thing is this; I enter the station at the far end of the northbound platform and nearly die when I have full view of my southbound train in the distance heading for the station ... generally indicating the need to leg it :ugh if I have any hope of getting to the end of the platform, under the subway, up the other side, get my ticket, through the barriers, and onto the southbound platform all before the train pulls in! :ohboy normally make it ... just ... but spend the twenty minutes on the train in agony where my insides groan with complaint!!!! :ohboy

:bug Arrive at my destination and panic to see I've only ten mins before my d/p group starts but still have to jump on a bus to get to the hospital! :surprise

:bug Normally get to unit just on time ... maybe few mins late! If I've to wait longer than five mins for a bus, I'm screwed :ugh but usually, I don't! :yay

:bug Group/s ... Smoking room ... do whatever I need to for that day d/p

:bug Head into shoppin centre ... wander round the shops for half hour, coffee, something like that! :cheesy

:bug Jump on the train home :train

:bug Get home any time between three p.m. & five p.m. ... depending on what time I finish at the unit

:bug Watch TV / play with my Bob! / cook dinner / chill out!

:bug Go online for an hour or two

:bug Go to bed about eleven thirty and spend three hours laying awake before I get to sleep!

That's about it! :happy Of course, I then have to slot in all the other crap stuff like cleaning, washing, ironing and such like into the gaps! :ugh ... but that's pretty accurate as a basic outline :ummm

Welcome to my world.....................

:moon FOUR AM-My little sisters Danielle and Kira are up and off to swim practice.:fishjump Occasionally I haven't fallen asleep yet for the night. I yawn and snuggle back under my down comforter and am thankful for my warm bed.

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I have dialysis in the morning and this semester I'll have class in the afternoon. Last semester I somehow ended up with all my classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They were long days! :ummm

:cute NOON-Lunch with grandma and Jessica (my now one year old sister) if I'm home. Last semester I had lunch with my dad a lot on Tuesdays and Thursdays (Ok-translation he brought lunch and we ate in his office on campus---there have to be some advantages of having your dad be an adjunct faculty at your college)

:challenge TWO PM-I have counseling one day a week (it was Wednesday it will switch to Thursday in the upcoming semester) and usually end up needing to make a few other doctors appointments as well. I'm still seeing my internist, and nephrologist weekly.

:drawgreen FOUR PM-Study, or work on art projects. I'll also try to make it to Danielle and Kira's soccer games or ski meets if I can.

:touched SIX PM-If I don't have plans with my fiance Chris and am not desperately behind with school I'll make dinner with my dad. (Ok translation I talk he cooks---trust me it's better that way :shy) We usually eat around six thirty providing my mom is not having one of those days without end.

:angel SEVEN THIRTY PM-Kira (seven) and Jessica head to bed. I guess I kind of missed out on children's literature when I was their age. Through their story hours I've been introduced to Winnie the Pooh, The Little Prince, and The Paperbag Princess.

:ummm EIGHT PM-Homework, more homework. Journal on the board. Chat etc.

:sleepy SOMETIME AFTER TEN PM-Goodnight

Sometimes I talk to my bfriend Jack:love, about his day at uni, and others I speak to my best bud shelly, or email my best best bud emma:bug, otherwise known as bugz, coz she went to do resort america ( Im from south africa by the way)
