A Poem...I remember.

[Lucinda]

Looking in your eyes I remember.
All it takes is for me to take a moment
Out of my day..
Stop...bend my knees..

Lift your chin..
And meet my eyes with yours.

You were born in the middle of the night..
A hot hazy humid day..
I held you for the first time..
And felt the love.

I lifted your head..
And smelt your skin.

You were so lttle.
So miraculous..
And so full of life.
Life.

I held your hand..
And you pointed to the sky..

Each experience..
Each joy..first time..
I watch you with amazement..
Getting pure joy over the simplest things.

I remember the reason
I went through all the hard work
Of recovery
Of getting well enough for pregnancy.

I kneel down...
Lift your chin..and meet your baby blues with my eyes.

And I remember my little son..
All the reasons I am a Mommy.
