:bounce Cross-stitch - very relaxing and a way to add to my :dragon collection!
:bounce Sewing/costuming - I love making my own funky dresses and also historical costumes. Another method of relaxation, and I admit that I love hearing people say, "Wow, you made that?"
Both of those are ways of expressing myself. Even though I don't design my own cross-stitch, I'm saying something though which pictures I choose.
:bounce Irish dance - good for stress release, plus it's a social activity.

~My hobbies~
:love Horse back riding - I :love being around animals, especially horses. I'm thinking about getting a job where I would clean their stalls, just so I can be around them and make a little money :cute
:love Reading - Reading relaxes me and lets my mind have a break from the stresses of daily life.
:love Travel - I adore travelling...I've been to ten different countries so far! Hope to have much more than that before I die!!

Scrapbooking
Designing Cards/ Invitations
Using the Net for Craft Ideas, bulletin boards with other craft nuts..:winky
Also into playing games with my fiance' this helps us spend quality time together. Important for both of us.
Collecting stamps, postcards, Craft Materials..Once again I see what kind of crafts, materials that I am good and not so good at but have fun doing.
I guess these hobbies are showing me that I have creativity that has been hidden behind all my sickness.. They help build my self esteem.

:sun My collections...
Seashells...collected since I was a little girl and an older couple gave me their prized collection...it all started their and blossomed..
Snowmen...I love them. I collect them like crazy..anything with a snowman...I buy it...I especially like the ones that I can leave up all year long that don't have Holiday colors attatched to them...
Penguins...Need I say more?:penguin I have a bathroom totally devoted to my collection...thanks especially to a cute :fishy named Bri..:cute That collection is growing more slowly than the snowman one..penguins are harder to find...
Collecting makes me feel special..like it is something all mine. I love it when someone will call me or come into work and say..."Oh you should have seen the snowman I saw..I thought of you instantly!!"
Dragonflys...I love them. I have a personal sentiment towards them..I just saw my first one last summer..when I was sititng on my deck..feeling really really down..and one dragonfly flew up in front of me..and it was beautiful..and it filled me with so much hope...So my little girls :angel room is decorated in dragonflies...

:sun Reading is my favorite hobby and my favorite books are science fiction and fantasy. Reading to me is a celebration of someone's imagination. Putting myself in another universe gives me a sense of freedom and helps me stay open-minded. It's a great escape and stress-reducer.
:sun Baking desserts is another hobby because it allows me to be creative; I'm always changing recipes and trying new ingredients. I like to share my creations with family and friends, so I can express love by giving away what I've made and feel good about myself, too.

I think identifying what we like or don't like, recognizing what we enjoy to do or maybe don't enjoy doing and acknowledging these things makes you "YOU".
I love my husbands quirks. I love that he does the same routine every morning, and I just love it 'cause it's HIM.
My sister is niave- funny niave- she thinks that DJ booths in our little local dance clubs would be a great place for a puppet show. Heehee! For me it's harder.
For some reason my identity feels weak and I fell disappointed. I am so overprotective of being hurt or rejected that I hide my quirks, which leaves me as a boring secret.
I'm loving, I'm a poet, I'm strong (phsyically), I play the piano and I'm learning to play guitar. I'd like to learn how to do a cute set up on this website, but I can't figure that out yet. I know I like flowers and can name most of them.
Thank-you for this challenge SFishy![COLOR=crimson]
:stars Art is my passion in life...
Ceramics particularly... theres nothing more soothing for me, than making a pot/sculpture.
I love abstract art too... its the one thing im able to express myself with...
Although my college lecturers always wonder why my pieces are all dark, blue and fragmented :sarcasm
:stars Music is another major hobby of mine...
I play the piano, and i sing :happy

"music expresses what cannot be said, and what cannot be supressed" (can't remember whosaid that...)

I love...
:rainbow Dancing! My favorites are ballet and lyrical :happy. I love expressing myself through the music and movement.
:rainbow Figure skating. I've only been skating for a little under a year, but I really like it, and I'm starting to learn jumps now :surprise :scared.
:rainbow Collecting stuffies, as my husband calls them :winky. Teddy bears mostly, but really any type! My husband just got me a cute leopard from Build-a-Bear for my birthday. I love to snuggle with them, and I still sleep with my favorite stuffed dog (and the leopard, of course).
:rainbow Collecting any type of :butterfly butterfly :butterfly stuff. They strike me as so hopeful; I just love them :love.
:rainbow Writing! And reading as well--I used to read allll the time, but I haven't had as much time to do so now. I think writing is also a good way to express yourself and get stuff out.
:rainbow Restoring My Child dolls. If anyone knows them, they were made in the low-to-mid eighties by Mattel :happy. I have always loved dolls...I think it is just a passion that sort of continued into adulthood :winky!
Thank you for the topic, :hugon Amy :hugoff! And it was good to read other :fishy's hobbies, too :yay.

[pink] my favorite hobby is dance and music. when i think of what makes me happiest nothing else comes to mind like being in a dance studio. i started dancing when i was two and it has always been something i turn to. taking class lets me take the focus off of my mind and find the strength in my body that allows me to get through the class. dance allows me to use my body as a form of strength to allow me to do amazing things, not something negative that i can obsess about. choreography is my way of selfexpression. i can find a song that touches me and let my emotions out through the movement. i think of creating a piece like poetry in motion. i guess that's who i am. Writing.....Short stories, poems, thoughts, ideas, songs, etc. etc.
Writing helps me to discover more and more about me...for a while I stopped writing and it seems that is when things got bad again....
Writing clears some things from my mind and gives me a perspective of myself I otherwise may not see.
Writing shows me who I really and truly am inside and sometimes in writing I make discoveries about myself and my life that I may otherwise have over looked.
Writing is also a venting tool when things build up inside and I feel like I am going to explode. It helps me find a form of relief.
Writing is also beneficial in my creativity. I write short stories for Heather and read them to her drawing pictures to go with them.
Writing down things also gives me some "memoirs" for later years or for my child after I am gone from this world.
From the day she was born I have kept a "baby/child" journal for Heather....every birthday she has I make a special entry about the year before and all I learned with her that year and things we did and such...sometimes during the year something will inspire me to make a special entry on a certain day....something she has said or done, etc.
Writing is my favorite thing to do now. Other than reading, it is the only hobby I really have.

Here are my hobbies! I like to do a LOT of stuff!
I :love to sail. I've done regattas before, and I still sail with my dad when I'm home.
I swim like a :fishy. I've been a lifeguard for four years, and it's an important part of my life. I also loooove working camps.
I :love working with kids. I want to make it more than a job, but a career. I want to be a children's minister.
I :love to sing. I sing in a praise and worship ensemble at church every week. I also love to play french horn, but I can't afford an eight thousand dollar instrument, so I'll just have to take it up when I can afford it again.
I :love to dance. I've been doing it since I was in third grade. I have taken jazz, ballet, and acrobatics, and I also was on Spanish Dance team in High School. I can do the flamenco (I swear I shoulda been born latina!)! I'm learning swing right now...
Reading and shopping are my other two addictions. Can't get enough!
I also :love going to coffee bars. I try to find the ones with the most "authentic" atmospheres. That and search for the perfect chai. Yum!

I like working, although I don't have a job right now.

i have a few hobbies but the one that is most important to me is tae kwon do.
it definitely increased my confidence and mental strength. i would not have accomplished many of the things that i did without it.
i also met a lot of great people. there are people at my tae kwon do school who are like my family. it's a really cool atmosphere because it's like i have a bunch of older brothers and sisters as well as younger ones. and it's nice to have people to go to other than your biological family when you're in trouble.
i wish i could put in to words everything that tae kwon do has done for me.
