Hello to all,
I am new here. I am a compulsive overeater. I love this forum and I have finally joined.
I would really love some ideas of what areas would be best to begin posting in. I am having a bit of anxiety about posting about the wrong things. I have read the FAQs several times, but just incase....
I have been in and out of recovery programs but I have come to the place where I know it would be great to come and share and listen to others.
I have come a very long way in my life. This eating disorder is brutal as I am sure you know.
My aunt died of this disease. She was a compulsive overeater until she was near my age and then turned towards anorexia/bulimia.
This disease can take everything if not faced.
Thanks for listening to this brief yet earnest post.
Hugs
Lacyanna

Hi again,
I guess nobody is around today. But I will keep trying, how's that? I will hang out here and see who shows up. :bowl
Today was a long day. Lots of fatigue. I am grateful to have the job I do. I am going to go visit a friend tonight and watch some of my favorite TV shows. I really want to stay home and crawl into bed. I know my addict self would adore that.
Whew..I am just tired. My body is really wanting me to stop with the binging. I consider the fact that I came back today a great sign that there is "something" in me that is interested in telling the truth about me.
Hugs to whoever stumbles through here!
love lacyanna

Hi Lacyanna! (what a beautiful name)
First of all, I want to say I am sorry your aunt lost her life to an ED. How awful for you and your whole family. What devestation ED's bring.
Hooray for you for coming here to learn more and try to find a journey toward recovery. I know it seems strict -- what you can post about and what you can't -- but try not to stress about it. They will edit you if you make a mistake. Just pretty much leave stuff with numbers out (weight especially) and you'll do fine.
Anyway, I don't have a whole lot of wisdom to share today as I am right with you in the struggle. I just wanted to welcome you and say HI!
Have a great day,
:bouncekareliz

Hi, Lacyanna,
Got good news and bad news: There is no one right way to do this.
You will be gently reminded that "it isn't about the food," or the weight.
If you speak from the heart, you can't go wrong. Relax. We are here for you.
If you are uneasy about the appropriateness of your posts, just browse around, in the archives and other sections of the bowl. You will get a really good idea of the topics that are regularly discussed.
Whatever you are dealing with, chances are someone has dealt with it (in another way) before. They can give you advice, if you want it, or insight, or comfort, or a kick in the butt -- if you need that.
Stick around. Persevere. This is a great place to be.

Hello Lacyanna,
I'm sorry to hear about your aunt but perhaps that will strengthen you in YOUR fight against this.
This board can be one of the slower ones which may be why you didn't get a response right away, but I'm glad to see that you're here. Keep on truckin'! :grin
