The anniversary of Nine Eleven is a hard day.

Harder for some than others.
Some fishies live in NYC & DC.
Some lost loved ones.

But we all have in common the fact that
a lot of pain & misery came out of that day.

What we feel, think & do one year later is scary.

The media coverage will blanket so much of it.
It's ok to watch it.
It's ok to turn it off if you know that it will only do harm.

It's ok to dedicate the day to a memorial service
& other similar activities.
It's ok to try to have a normal day as much as you can.

It's ok to have a day in which you reflect & remember.
It's ok to have a day in which you hug those closest to you.
It's ok to light a candle, say a prayer,
offer up good thoughts to the world.
It's ok to say, "I'm not handling today well".
It's ok to post & say what you're feeling & going thru.

It's ok to do well tomorrow with your eating & your recovery.
It's ok to stumble.

It's ok to remember those who disappeared.
It's ok to choose to go on in our own tiny ways
& our own huge ways.

Most of all, it's ok to feel.

It's lovely to see fishies that stick to other boards come over to this part of the :bowl.

I wish you a day full of as much :peace as possible.

Thank you for the reminder that however we choose to commemorate today is OK!!!

I woke up to my clock radio when the DJ was saying something like, "Today is September llth, and two years ago today..." at which point I said "F U!" and smacked it off. :sad

I'm trying to keep away from any media stuff that would remind me of that horrible day. I live in a DC suburb, and my parents live about twenty miles from the Shanksville, PA crash site.

I'm just trying to let today be just another day, even though it isn't. I have Back to School Night, or I'd probably be going to a service like I did last year. Wonderful planning our school has, huh? :mad
