I was just wondering if anyone could give me there def of recovery?
This isn't my usual board to post in, but I feel compelled to answer to you, recovery...
Recovery is the willingness to give up that which hurts you, even if you feel its the only thing in the world that is safe. Hurting yourself is never safe, but somewhere in our lives, we use food/weight/eating to express other feelings and needs that we can't put words to.
Recovery is finding words, finding feelings, learning new ways to cope with the troubled areas in our lives....
Recovery is learning how to deal with our bodies, taking care of them, nurturing them, finding a sane concept of health to believe...
Recovery is holding onto the hope, that someday we'll learn to love our body.
Recovery is learning to be honest with yourself.
Recovery is learning to stand up for your needs, wants, and desires.
Recovery is learning how to enjoy life again (life with an eating disorder is hell... each of us learn this someday..)
Recovery is being comitted to LIFE, and LIVING.
Recovery is learning to be true to yourself.
Recovery is about exploring this wonderful and unique being called YOU...
I... I hope this helps, even if just a small bit.
Thank you for your time,

Recovery is....
allowing yourself to feel your feelings
acknowledging past hurt and dealing with it
deciding for yourself you want to be a whole person
realizing your gifts and limitations
reaching out to others when they or you need help
treating yourself in a kind way
Hope this helps
