Hi... I just registered to be a member of this community, although I've been visiting this site for a couple of weeks now.

I suffer from Compulsive Overeating Disorder, I think, except it happens only on the weekends. Particularly when I'm bored or watching tv. I don't know why I do it... well, except that it's become a habit. The biggest problem is that I feel physically sick afterwards [from too much food in my tummy] and very guilty.

Maybe since I know what triggers these episodes, I can try to avoid them in the future... instead of sitting there watching tv, do something creative like write or draw or something. Get out of the compromising situation and do something refreshing.

Anyways, just wanted to say hello.

Hi CelesteCA,

Welcome to the :bowl!

It's a good start to look at what triggers you into wanting to binge. Watching tv or being bored have always been triggers for me, too. One thing that helped me a great deal is to work on eliminating the guilt I felt over binging. I got a lot out of some books by Geneen Roth, who speaks on the subject. She has written several books on overcoming coe/bed.

Keep posting & check out the coe recovery board, too. This community is a wonderful place for support. Best of luck, hon. :clover

Hi Celeste!

Welcome to the :bowl. You'll find lot's of support here.

I've been trying to rationalize my compulsive overeating for many years and although the solution(s) seemed simple, I have never found a lasting cure. I think just admitting that you are a compulive overeater is a big step toward recovery.

Good work!
