welcome to the :bowl !!! I think almost all of us can relate to your post and you definitely aren't alone. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
How long have you had an ed? have you been in therapy before? because I know that I've grown a lot through my work in therapy. I've been able to identify many of my triggers to my ed and learn coping/distress tolerance skills to help me when i have urges, so my binges (and purges) have decreased tremendously. If you haven't been in therapy, this site has a way cool treatment finder on the main page and you can look up professionals in your state.
In the meantime, swim around! Share more! You aren't alone! :grin

I just replied to you in the co-recovery forum. I just want to say that you are no longer alone. You have found a place of support. Just keep writing your feelings. Whatever they may be. Believe me, most of us, I am sure have gone through similar stuff. Everything you posted here is exactly what I go through. Also, there is a list of recommended books on this site to help you out. There are a few other ones that are not mentioned that have really helped me. French Toast For Breakfast, by Mary Anne Cohen, and Binge No More, by Joyce D. Nash have been wonderful. Of course, therapy is highly recommended as well. Finding a good support group that you feel safe with is also helpful. I have been too afraid to walk into a support group so right now, i have been coming here. People understand what you are going through. Talk and ask questions and you will see that people do recover.

Hey, sorry I can't answer your questions, some of it are things you'll just have to figure out on your own (I know, everyone LOVES to hear that :sarcasm ) but I just wanted to say welcome!

kym,
hi and welcome.
i just wanted to say that some moments are easier than others, in my experience.
i hope you find support here and some hope.
Welcome!
You've just taken an important step towards making it easier: letting yourself seek help and support. Trying to go it alone is often too much sometimes...
:bandwagon
Best of luck!

Dear Kym,
I don't think it's ever easy, but it just got easier! You expressed yourself to the :bowl very well. Your pain and your experience resonate with me and my compulsive overeating disorder.
By sharing your feeling and experiences with others, you will find that you are not only not alone, but are surrounded by people who share your disease and support each other as they struggle for recovery!
