It makes me really sad about the bombing at the hebrew university in Jerusalem. :cry It makes me feel like the war in the middle east will never end. Palestine keeps seeking Israel's revenge, Israel keeps seeking Palestine's revenge and so on...It's a cycle that seems to be infinitive. It really scares me! :scared Do any of you :fishys know people in Israel???

Yes, the bombing made me so angry and sad. I know people who are in Israel and I know lots of people who spent a year or summer studying in college. I had always planned to spend this summer (the summer before my junior year of college) in Israel, but with all the violence it became clear that I couldn't plan to go this summer. I wanted to be able to be studying at a peaceful Hebrew University this summer!

More than anything the bombing in Israel scares me, especially this recent one, because my Aunt and my cousin work in the University, and I cannot even begin to describe the fear that I felt when I heard of the bombing. Though they work in the opposite campus, each time I hear of any bombings, I seem to become more angry than sad, because it feels as though there will never be safety and peace for those living in Israel. I have grandparents, and cousins in Jerusalem, whom I will be visiting at the end of the summer, and it will be really hard to be there, and feel what it is like to literally live in fear of your life, because it doesn't seem to matter where you go, the markets or on public transporation, Israel has never been safe.

Yes, I completely understand. My family and I were planning to go to Israel quite a few times, but we didn't because of all the violence. It just feels like it will never end. :cry :reallymad

Aww, hun I can't even begin to imagine the fear that went through you this last bombing! Are you aunt and cousin ok? How are they doing emotionally? It must be tough on you and your family. It's true! There is always that chance that you might be hurt wherever you go in Israel. It's so scary and wrong. :scared

I have always wanted to go to Israel, if not to study, which was a dream at one time, just to be there. But that's not going to happen now. :sad My heart and prayers go out to all of you with loved ones there, and to those who must live in the shadow of the bombings. :hugon :world :hugoff

Yeah it is very very sad. I have family there and I have been there. I went there in nineteen night four , my grandmother took around twnety of us there because she wanted her grandchildren, to see Israel and it was remarkable. It is a beautiful place. A place where religeion started for three of the worlds great religions, and it breaks my heart osee it being blown to pieces.

I am a practiciing Episopalean, and my mother is Jewish, but I also happen to work for a very prominent Jewish Organization in NYC, and hence every day we get breifings on the going ons there. I get e-mails from the congregations we work with telling me how their families are doing it is sad.

I think what is saddest for me tho, is that the majority of the US population is really "unafillited" with the issues. Meaning, that the majority of people in this country are Chistain and people view the problem as a "Jewish" problem, it ins't, it is a terrorist problem, on both sides at times. Personally, I feel that untill the America population realizes that they need to care jsut as much about Israel as the Jewish and Muslim populations do, I don't think the US will be able to be that effective in helping things.

I mean Israel is just as imporant to me as a Christian as it is to my mom's family who is Jewish. I went to the Isreal day rally in DC a few monthes back, and I was shocked, to see that there were no other people there from different religious backgrounds. People have to realize this is an issue of terror, and realize the importance of the Coutntry to history and culture.

this topic as you can see hits home hard. I love Israel, I do. I admire how far the country has come in such a short time, I feel sad for Palistinians, of course I do, but I do know that revenge never helps things, and Israel I really wish would realize that too.

It must be interesting to work for a Jewish Organization during all the chaos going on in Israel!

Also, you said, I think what is saddest for me tho, is that the majority of the US population is really "unafillited" with the issues. Meaning, that the majority of people in this country are Chistain and people view the problem as a "Jewish" problem, it ins't, it is a terrorist problem, on both sides at times. YES!! YES!! YES!! THANK YOU. I AGREE ONE HUNDRED PERCENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is NOT just a matter of religion, it is TERRORISM. Israel is a COUNTRY IN DANGER!!
