Andysangel...

I'm a Canadian fishy, so although I'm not in the heat of this terrorism thing I definitely hear and know a lot about it. Whenever something happens in the States, Canada follows suit (this happened after the LAX incident, my local airport was all of a sudden on high alert even though we are miles and miles away from Los Angeles) All I wanted to say to you is that terrorism has been happening for years; Sept. ******** scared the Western world and brought it more into the forefront, but it had happened before. Live the life you would have before this incident. Unfortunately none of us can change what is yet to happen, we can only control ourselves and no one else. It may not be smart to go to some countries, but then again, when has it ever in the last century? Take care of yourself, and don't be afraid.

dear andysangel,

I don't have much to say aside from what Jenn said...

and the chances are extremely slim...

and I think of an analogy one of my profs said--that people have been killed by falling flower pots, does that mean you should wear a helmet all the time?

seriously, you should go (or come) to the US if you want unless your anxiety is too extreme.

good luck,
peanut

i went to the usa the second-day that planes were allowed back into their air space last yr. i honestly didnt worry about my plane at all. i have to admit that it was weird watching the bush address on a tv in the auckland airport on my stopover. it did get pretty quiet and everyone stopped and watched.

the uk was terrorised by the ira for years. that didnt stop ppl going to england. just think of the positive things.....i went to disneyland and i didnt have to wait in lines for rides. the airports were empty. flights are way cheap now because of all this. also, i dont want the terrorists to have stopped me from having MY freedom.

im going back in ten-weeks for a holiday. i might be going to south america too.....you do realise that in south america you will have more chance of being a victim of crime than in the usa? that many of those countries are plagued with internal warfare, and crime because of the poverty. if you are white skinned and a non spanish speaker that will make you a better target for those who want your westen riches. not meaning to scare you. there are also lovely ppl and a rich culture in south america. i think both places are great to visit, just make sure that you make an informed choice.
