American Greetings is re-releasing a new set of Care Bears :bear
to celebrate their twentieth aniversary!
I still have almost all the original Care Bears!!!!!
And one that is worth about three hundred :usa dollars.
(boy, I'm getting old :winky)

Btw, I'm still looking for the rare Sea Friend Bear :fishy,Harmony :notes, Surprise :surprise Bear, Daydream :balloons Bear, Loyal Heart :dog, Proud Heart :kitty, Playful Heart Monkey :monkey, and the ultra rare Treat :love Pig if anyone has any suggestions (other than eBay).

As of yet, only a very few select :usa stores have new Care Bears merchandise (other than shirts and sandals, which I already have! :supergrin). Some of the toy retailers are selling pre-release on eBay, but they are way over-charging, so my suggestion is to wait until they hit stores later this month.

I pre-ordered my set of the seven nine inch plushes for only ten :usa dollars each! The set includes:
Wish Bear :stars
Friend Bear :flower
Funshine Bear :sun
Cheer Bear :rainbow
Grumpy Bear :bult
Bedtime Bear :moon
Tenderheart Bear :love

Later they will also be releasing the new America :usa Cares Bear in the states and a couple other nine inch bears (most likelyGood Luck Bear :clover,Love A Lot Bear :love, Birthday Bear :balloons, or Share Bear).

New Beanies will be released along with poseables (the three inch pvcs) and six inch bears. Some stores (Hot Topic, Spencers, etc.) are already carrying the new mini pvcs, but I suspect once Target, Walmart, Kmart, etc. get them they will be much cheaper! It is also rumored that larger bears will be released, but I didn't read that on the official press release from AG.

ahh i apologize! i saw the two thousand two care bears on ebay today and i never realized they were the same as the original ones! very cute, yet they were quite expensive. the ones i didnt like were those brite crazy ones that didnt look at all like the orignal ones and were like tie dyed. ick

Right now, very few stores carry the new bears. They are not scheduled for retail release yet, so the ones sold on eBay are the ones the retailers managed to get a hold of before release date -- that's why they are so expensive. When they are released to the public and sold in Walmart and other places, they should be very reasonable. I ordered mine for less than ten :usa dollars a piece! I wouldn't waste my money on buying the ones from eBay.
Patience is a virtue!

I got me one! :cool I went to superwalmart the other day and there they were! I bought Cheer Bear, which i didn't realize until i came home, but it was the same care bear that my mom designed a costume for me!!! (I was a Carebear in kindergarten, huge pink furry outfit with paws and the whole nine yards :grin )...it even comes with a cartoon video!!! :yay

awww, pooh bear! you need to come to colorado! My store that i work at, we sell Winnie the Pooh plush! :grin

Ally, the Care Bears at Walmart are actually different than the ones I'm referring to. I don't think the Walmart bears are nearly as cute :cute as the new nine inch bears. A.G. decided to release two sets: one traditional and one for the aniversary -- I like the aniversary bears better.

I used to love the Care bears, though I never really got so obsessed with them as I did with so many other things - I guess they wren't quite so big in the UK.

I have one really old, tired looking one but I cannot remember what he is called - can you help???

He is pale minty green with a picture of a moon on his belly. Oh, and his eyes are half-closed.
