I don't think I'm over-reacting. It seems rather out of line to me that a DIY show feel it necessary to include a joke about bulimia. It went something along the lines of "...like you being bulimic, but forgetting to throw up". Totally unnecessary :ugh.

I don't know if anyone else saw it and felt :mad.

I just emailed the BBC politely telling them how disappointed I was at their tasteless idea of entertaining banter.

I can't believe the BBC didn't edit a thoughtless comment like that out! :reallymad Good for you Trish for mailing them. Let me know their response!

i heard a similar comment....
a ex-pro footbal player came in to give an inspiring talk about losing his legs. however he said he gained a lot of weight after football cuz he ate so much. he went to the doc and talked about eating disorders. he said to the doc i think i have the bulimia. the binging. i just seem to keep forgetting the purging. everyone laughed like it was a huge joke. i started to tear up. it was hard dealing with that. i know it was just a joke...i know he was suffering from being overweight and made light of it, but it hurt me.
