How closely do you follow current affairs?

:shy

Admittedly I've only begun to develop a genuine interest comparatively recently. We were expected to keep up with things at school, but I always thought it at chore then.

Hi :hugonIsabel:hugoff

o tell you the truth a few years ago I really used ot read all the latest news in the papers and watch al the bulletins on TV, but since I moved away form :uk I have become quite isloated from curret affairs - well isolated form my old life actually.
Although I could get more involved if I wanted to at the moment I don't, because before I really got involved and got emotionally attatched to a lot of things happening in the world, and it made me depressed to thnk that I couldn't save everyone.

Would be nice to hear other :fishy ies opinions

I used to read the newspaper daily and watch the six 'o' clock news... that was all when I lived at home so I had money and Mum and Dad would always watch the news.

However, I now only buy the Daily Mail on a Monday for the health section, the Guardian on a Wednesday for jobs and local paper on Thursdays.

I try to watch the news everyday though.

when i was an ickle :pinkfishy from the age of about eight I'd read the newspaper and watch the six o'clock news every single day!

I still read the paper most evenings and sometimes watch the news, but for the past few years, I've found it too depressing

post September eleven i nearly had a breakdown coz i was soooo :scared, and things re :israel etc ( I have israeli and palistinian friends), and the kashmir situation etc... though i believe its good to be informed sometimes it gets a bit much!

When I am travelling, I hardly see any news, and :supergrin in a way its very good (still managed to :ear about Princess Margaret RIP, and Will winning Pop Idol even before my parents!)

:love and :peace to the :world

I used to follow the news really closely. But now I'm pretty busy through the day, but I try to turn on CNN every now and then and see what's going on in the world.

I've become more of a news geek because of my job. SInce I'm in PR, I have to follow those things, although I did have to distance myself a little from the news channels and such following the events of last Spetember because I just got too sucked in and upset. Sometimes I do that with world events. :ummm :ugh
