Hey :uk
Did anyone watch last Sunday's thing on Channel Four? I missed most of it, but caught the last ten minutes... it was about the boy who (I think) had schitzophrenia...?
Apparantly there is an entire series every Sunday about young mental health ~ I've seen snippets of it on adverts and suchlike.. it looks really quite good! I think it should be worth watching!

Alas I can't get Channel Four :ugh.
I'm leaving here soon though, so hopefully I'll be able to watch it! Thanks for telling us!

I watched the program about the boy with schizophrenia. It was very well done I think, non-judgemental and with the aim of educating people about mental illness and reducing ignorance.
Next week's program is about treatment of mental illness in teenagers. I'm not sure whether I will watch it, I think it will be very triggering. I might tape it and watch it when I am feeling safe :ohboy

I saw it and thought it was well done. There are three programmes on mental health in children and adolescents. I think the third one is on self harm.
Definitely worth watching though Gina.

I saw the first program and thought it was handled really well. Am all set to catch the rest of the series.

Hey all :uk fishies!!
Just want to say I miss you all, and I miss Channel four - they used to do some really good documentaries. I would be very interested to hear your view points on this new series that seems to be coming up.
I'll also add this to my reasons as to why I should save up for a satellite so that I can see proper english TV!!

I just watched it with one of my friends, Sarah. It was sad but very well done. It was also unfortunate to hear that Woodside could be closing. The treatment there looked really good and it seemed so homely. I wish I could have gone there.

it made me sad too, that poor emma :cry she was so sweet and she hated herself. that degree of self-hatred was so painful to watch..and its always weird seeing other cutters as well..whoa..missed the first program but will def watch next sunday..

Last one tonight - after last week know I need to take extra special care watching it - but I would like to see it as the series has been so well done. Last week's just touched deep with me which was quite upsetting at first - but actually I think was quite good for me overall - a good lesson in reality
Just wanted to give anyone who watches it an extra :hugon:uk:hugoff though - be careful and stay safe :love

I thought it said there were only eighteen centers like it in the country not eighty but perhaps I was mistaken. I just saw the middle one. In some aspects it reminded me of my IP experience at a unit like it but in other ways there unit seemed less homely...that unit to some degree seemed more clinical than perhaps I would have expected based on my own experience, but then everybody perceives things differently I guess.
