Hello Christian Fishies!
I love being able to share my faith and recovery with other Christians with eating disorders.
This week, on Monday, I finally realized that I had to
Give MY EATING DISORDER TO GOD
I had been pretending too, but never fully letting it go, afraid that God would not "take care of it" fast enough. I found this poem, and applied it to my eating disorder, here it is to share:
Let Go and Let God
As children bring thier broken toys,
with tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God,
because He is my friend.
But instead of leaving Him
in peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help
in ways that were my own.
At last, I snatched them back again,
and cried, "How could you be so slow?"
"My child," He said, "what could I do?"
"YOU NEVER DID LET GO."
I love this, and find it so true of myself. I get down on my knees every day and give it all to God. Thank you for listening to me! I just feel so happy and alive for the new strenght God has given me.

But, yes, it is very inspirational and "Let Go Let God " does help......i go to church on reg basis now and just going and having that relationship with the Lord is so awesome.....he Forgives, He leads us to the right path, ands still Blesses us unconditionally.......thank you for the opportunity to read that poem again.....God is an awesome God!!!!!! :angel

Thanks! iT is so comforting to have a spot to share how God has affected and taken care of our lives. Chriszgirl, i am glad that you found comfort in that poem after a loss. My friend lost her father Wednesday, maybe I will give her a copy as well.
How are your struggles with the ED going?

Here again, I see that I have to let go, I have to say to God: Here it is, take it, do wherever you want to do cause I trust in you!!
You :sun my day!! And to find God has helped me a lot in my struggles, because we need to accpet us the way we are, the way HE created us no matter what, because it is like that, that he loves us!!!!!! We need to say to him everytime, I am glad to be who I am... Take care!!

I am glad that you are finding support from your pastor.I hope that the support group will be a positive experience for you. I wish that I felt comfortable enough with mine to discuss this.
Thanks for the support, I am doing okay, each day is a huge struggle, but I am working through it and we are not alone. Not only is God here for us, but he is also sending us support by this board and other means. It is so humbling to realize that anyone could love me that much.
May I ask what type of ED problems you have? I am diagnosed as ED/NOS, and have restricting/binging issues. I have had them for about **** years now.
Good luck, God Bless, lots of love,
Hamball
