Ahimsa is the principle of non-violence. My prayer is that each of us may begin to practice ahimsa on ourselves. :sun

Life is precious, and each one of us is a miracle. :wand

We must try to be gentle and nourishing, first to ourselves.

Great post, and I've never heard the term Amnisa before, but am completely into non-violence. So, thanks for the good information :supergrin.

I agree, it's important that we begin by being kind and non-violent to ourselves (which is ironically a lot harder sometimes than practicing this with others). Thanks for the reminders and have a great day!

"be the change you want to see in the world" was said by Gandhi, who was the foremost adherent of AHIMSA.

So it seems you know a lot about Ahimsa. :plane

Thank you for the beautiful post. It made my morning coffee taste delicious.:flower

Have a good day,

Simone-

Thanks, you've made me smile now :supergrin.

Ahimsa kind of reminds me of the talk of compassion in Pema Chodron's writings...are you familiar with them? I find her so inspirational and her writing just beautiful.

Anyway, have a wonderful day and practice ahimsa towards yourself, and I'll try to do the same.

Take care!

Beauty isn't skin-deep. Beauty begins much deeper, so it's no wonder that many beautiful women don't believe they're beautiful. If you haven't found your inner self and aren't in touch with who you are, you won't be able to perceive your true beauty. Your inner beauty has nothing to do with your hair color or facial wrinkles or cellulite or breast size. These are transitory features of your soul's container. These aren't YOU!

The most important first step any woman can take in dealing with the issue of beauty and self-esteem is to practice AHIMSA . Accept yourself, not only physically, but mentally and spiritually. Don't commit violence to your body. Don't try to force it to conform to some cultural ideal, or mentality, by hating it or obsessing over it.

The true YOU is much deeper, more complex and more spectacular than your body. Find the beautiful, spiritual YOU and bring it out for everyone to see!

LOVE YOURSELF!!!

....I can't take credit for this; I got it out of a book. Thought it related.... :grin ...
