:hugonmaz:hugoff NO WAY!!! :cheesy.....Every feeling, emotion, desire, impulse, fear, strength, weakness and so on is from God.....Our Creator made us and experiences life through us and could never condemn us for being human. We are not expected to be perfect in this world, only strive to grow lol and improve and do the best we can....the desire you have to work on yourself is enough to make God :happy.....would you abandon someone you love just because they have problems they're having trouble overcoming, NO WAY, don't you think the Creator of all life loves you just as much and has as much compassion and understanding for you as you would for a loved one? You are loved, just pray and let your heart lead you.....believe in yourself first and then you will find God....:love :dog

I don't think we are lost soul or that the Lord feels that way. We all have our own cross to carry. God did not make this disease, nor is he going to make it disappear. Instead, through faith and the belief in Him, one can conquer it. We may have gone astray from the path He has planned but only ask and He will guide you back.'

Maz,
I do not believe an eating disorder will send someone to Hell either.
There are, unfortuantely a lot of misconceptions about mental/emotional disabilities, etc. out there and one of them happens to be that they can be sinful.
I don't agree with this. Particularly with eating disorders.

I used to question this myself because somewhere in my mind I felt like I was "eating disordered" on purpose and it was (is) SO hard to shake that feeling. But every time I would say that, someone would counter it with "well then go ahead and stop" and I knew that I was beat.

Eating disorders are like addictions. I can't speak for God, but my understanding is that they cannot be evil. They're illnesses to be fought like any other. Period.

Now, I do hope we can get past them at some point. It will make us more functional in every area . . . and if you are a religious person, more physically, mentally and emotionally able to serve God. If you consider yourself most closely affiliated with the "Christian" perspective, study this in the Bible. God speaks specifically about these type of things.

That's my take on it. Good luck with your quest.

:love and :peace

I personally do not beleive in Hell, at least not in the traditional way - I think Hell is the feeling of confusion, anxiety, loneliness and guilt that we feel when we deliberately and consciously do things that are hurtful to God's creation and intentions. I think we are losts souls in the meaning that we do - in a way- lose our souls in the struggle with ed/si/other harmful behavior, but I don't believe in a punishing God. I think S/he is sad and troubled and want to help us. Would you punish someone you love for being ill? Jesus cared for the ill. Mental (and physical, of course) illness is not something that deserves punishment. Don't be afraid of what God's thinking - but try to allow him to help you heal.

:love take care :love

PS I use the word "God" cause I'm Christian ( or something close to that), but feel free to replace it, I'm not trying to be selective...
