You have the whole summer ahead of you to enjoy. An escape from all things study-related.
Please don't let the fear of a new college inhibit your enjoyment of the :sun
It's always :scared when we move onto somewhere new but it is a new challenge and an opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.

Hi:uk
i hear what you are going through:ear...i am probably quite a bit older than you but i have been where you are...
i also moved around while still at school and its tough:sad:ugh
Since i left high school i went to uni for a year, doing a course i didnt want to do, then my parents divorced and i moved to the UK where i started training to be a childrens nurse. This didnt last too long either, and i became very depressed and my eating disorder got worse and worse so i left. Now (today actually) i have just finished a college access course and it was the hardest year of my life. Coping alone with mental illness in an environment where it is quite stigmatised and not much understanding from peers took quite a lot out of me.
My advice: TALK to your teachers/lecturers etc. because they are SOOOOO there for you. i dont know about you, but i tend to bottle things up and then it all gets a bit much for me and i explode. :boomi was forced by housemates to talk to the course director about some problems i was facing (i was kicked out of the house by them) and he was SOOO understanding, accommodating and supportive. HONESTLY it was the best thing i ever did.
i dont know if this reply has been at all helpful
If you have any more specific questions or just want someone to talk to, please know that you are MORE than welcome to email me any time, ok?:shy
All the best :love and :clover in the world to you :hugonminimaz:hugoff

mini maz,
These things helped me when I was starting college:
Visit the campus and get to know your way around.
Talk to someone who has attended the school and get as much information as you can on professors, activities, places to live, etc.
By the way, do you know specifically what things are making you nervous about starting college? If we know what these factors are, maybe we can offer some feedback.
Take care.

hey! well i can DEFFIANTELY relate to how you are feeling! i started the whole college experience last year. moved away from home and went to a school where i knew ABSOLUTELY NO ONE. i was TERRIFIED. but you know what- it turned out great. it is normal to be nervous- but try not to let it eat you up (no pun intended). things will be ok. they will work out. they just do. :) you can do it!! you are awesome!
if you want to talk more- or if u have more ?'s, please email! :)

First of all, congrats on making it to uni! You need to give yourself some credit, hon! :clover
I'm going to be finishing up my courses this next year (I hope, I hope, I hope), and I'm not going to mince words and say that it's going to be a walk in the park. That being said, there are always resources available for you. Make an appointment with a councelor first off, and you can get started on the right foot and keep :kick ED derriere. And we will always be here for you- only a few clicks away!
Even though my personal :bowl is on the other side of the Atlantic, I spent a term at the University of Aberdeen, and it was the happiest (perhaps the only happy) period of my life. Where are you headed? If you have any questions, email me at progressive***@hotmail.com (***= seven one six) and I will write you back in a jiffy.

i just graduated from college a few weeks ago. it was a hard time for me, because of my SI and depression. But my best advice would be - don't bottle things up. Reach out to those around you. You will not be a "nuisance" to anyone. The resources are there to help you. I felt so alone at college and I really didn't have to.
I wish you all the luck!!

Catherine,
Nice to meet you too! Okay, I'll admit it, I'm from a little, not-so-old country called the United States.... but I feel more Irish, anyway. I LOVE Ireland and i always have, ever since I was little. I'm actually going there for my first visit in September. Feel free to talk to me about where you live. I never tire from hearing about it. :)
Love
Eireann
