Lets go for another old post revival, okay? Jesla cannot handle change very well :ugh and must find comfort by getting some old posts back on the boards. :sarcasm This post is to encourage :fishyies who are worried about going to a nutritionist or are afraid of getting this kind of help...

Me,Hopalong, and ArtieStarbuck see the same nutritionist. Her name is Carol Ann, the protein queen. She is FABULOUS!! She is very very encouraging and gives great pep talks. Which I need a lot of. She started my meal plan off slowly. She doesn't let me go insane on her, she's so calm and collected:butterfly She has :butterfly stuff all over her office. Carol Ann has THE BEST southern accent you've ever heard, and I :love listening to her. She's also known to leap like a lemur :boink and give backrubs. And I like her hugs too. :hugon :love :hugoff

I have to admit though, if you've gotta talk about nutrition to someone, Carol Ann is definately the BESTEST!

Protein, Protein, Protein ladies! (now imagine that in the most southern belle accent you can imagine, and you've got a taste of our infamous Protein Queen):supergrin

At this very moment, I am in possession of a phone number for one - this in and of itself is nothing new: I have asked my doctor for referrals in the past, but never actually made the appointment :ugh
Then, after my appointment with my t this week, I asked for the number of a nutritionist she had mentionned during one of our previous sessions...and I think I am actually going to USE it! :scared

I am really really :loving Carol Ann (the protein queen)(my nutritionist) right now because I know that she is not leaving me and she's staying at the counseling office and I get to see her on Tuesday again before my T appointment, and although Carol Ann isn't going to be thrilled about my restricting and purging, at least I know I can count on her for a pep talk.

Seriously, I'm doing the best I can on my own and having more "good" days than bad, but I hate my INSURANCE they are pains and I never get to see my REAL doctor! That, and I'm just kinda scared. My :starsMOM:stars is going to pay for one if insurance doesn't. This is good. At least to get me started and settled into a routine.

I'll :carpinkHONK:carpink when I get one...here's hoping it's soon...'cause it will be nice to NOT have to think about eating and just DO what the NUT says to.

thanks for helping me to voice at least something today. i want to hide so badly today. but ... i want to brag about carol ann even more. i love her dearly. lucky to have her. wish everyone could have her.

*she reads poems to me like a mother would her own child.
*she laughs with me
*gives great pep talks
*always finds SOMETHING good to say about my attempts
*shares bits of her life with me
*gives great hugs
*tells me great/comforting stories to distract me when i get weighed. yesterday she talked about her new puppy! awww.
*she really works with me to find a common ground that i can feel safe with. even if it means just trying to get in liquids.
*always cares to know about me ... its not always about the ed and she doesn't mind if the conversation is not so much about nutrition. she is wonderful that way. though, she ALWAYS makes sure to discuss the importance of PROTEIN! ;)

PQ (protein queen) is the best and i adore her so! i will sing her praise any day. she makes me feel so good, so warm, so safe, so loved, so accepted and understood. she helps me to desire recovery for myself. she makes me want to put forth that oh so scary effort.

I just :love Carol Ann. I agree with Companion, Carol Ann is also good at talking about non-e.d. stuff to. She likes to look at pictures i bring in of family/students... she is fun and has lots of stories to tell... i :love to talk with her and tease her. :cheesy

My dietician is :stars amazing :stars ! She never gets frustrated with me, although she does get concerned from time to time. She hugs me whenever i want one, even though she is not a touchy person (she likes to tell my sis and i that she is practicing her :gimmeehug hugging :gimmeehug skills on us :cute ). She makes the funniest faces and i always laugh for a long long time when i am with her. Having recovered from an ED herself, she knows what the whole mindset thing is about, and she understands how some things that sound easy are difficult to do. I look forward to seeing her so much, it is like the highlight of my day when i go :muhaha ! I love it when she says "And who is my next victim" when my sis and i go for our meetings which are scheduled one after the other. There are sooo many things that make her uniquely Amy, and as i am sure the other :fishy on here who shares my dietician will agree, i am thankful every day that i have found her!
