I hope this is the appropriate place to post this, if not just let me know. But here goes. I am really new in recovery-when I say that I mean really new to deciding recovery is what I really want. I am looking for a book(s) that is fairly safe (although I know all books have their truths) that is written about having recovered/ and or being able to recovered. I often get discouraged and think recovery is impossible and I need something to remind me that recovery really is possible. I need all the tools I can get to stay on track and motivated. I have Life Without Ed- which is great but I would love to find as many as possible!

The Overcoming Bulimia Workbook by Randie E. McCabe, Ph.D. and others is really helping me out. I would suggest it if you are a recovering bulimic.

when women stop hating their bodies if you are binge or compulsive eater... could work for other EDs as well though.

Hi Finding_my_Feet,
With my hand on my heart I can recommend 'Eating in the Light of the Moon' by Anita A. Johnston PhD. This book was recommended on this site and after a lot of deliberation and second thoughts I decided to get it. I will have it forever and can not recommend it highly enough - I think everyone should read it whether they have an eating disorder or not. It is a book which really values the individual and which made me feel interested in who I am - and who I am going to be without my eating disorder. Please get this book for yourself!!!
Another really great book is 'Oh, The Places You'll Go' by Dr Seuss, this is a light hearted but rhythmic joy, I dont own a copy myself but I love to read it occassionally if Im in the book shop and they have a copy!

I was going to respond with "Eating in the Light of the Moon" being a must. EmBem beat me to it. I can't recommend it enough. It is great regardless of your ED.

The book I relate to the most so far out of all that I've read (but I haven't yet seen "Eating in the Light of the Moon", so it's on my "to buy" list), is -
