Hello,
I'd like to start working with some workbooks to help me get thinking more actively about recovery.
I struggled with ano and exercise bulimia for years, and my ED has gradually morphed to a binge eating disorder.
My favourite ED book of all time is Eating in the Light of the Moon, and I've had someluck with cognitive behaviour workbooks.
Any suggestions?

Hi :hugonLittleMissPerfect:hugoff
I would recommend "The Don't Diet, Live-It Workbook" By Andrea LoBue and Marsea Marcus.
The back of the book says:
"This unique workbook is full of in-depth information, moving personal stories, and insightful worksheets to help people understand and resolve their food, weight and body issues. Readers take four "Journeys" through such topics as:
Outer Solutionsvs. Inner Solutions
Isolation vs. Reaching Out
Thoughts vs. Feelings
Aggressive vs. Assertive Communication
Criticism vs. Praise
Emotional Hunger vs. Physical Hunger
Diet vs. Live-It
Weight Control vs. Natural Weight
Hope that helps!

I found a workbook that's not related to ED's but it's fun. It's called Anything you do is Everything you do. It's usually in the philosophy section. It's involves drawing and writing about yourself, it's kind of a self discovery workbook. When I started this book I also made a journal for it, so I didn't have to mark in the actual workbook.
Also, I like S.A.R.K books, she's just a fun artist and an abuse surviver. She has a journal where she's decorated the pages. It's bright and colorful, well both books are actually. Bright colors make me :supergrin Happy!!

Thanks for the responses.
In case anyone's interested, teh cognitive book I like is called "Mind over Mood: Change How you Feel by Changing the Way you Think." It's by Deniis Greenberger and Christine A. Padesky.
The book isn't specifically for EDs, but it helps to identify thoughts and feelings so that you can (ideally) start to interrupt and change feelings and moods. It specifically addresses anxiety and it has bits and pieces on addictive behaviour (mostly drinking, but I think some of it crosses over). I did find this workbook helpful.

LittleMissPerfect,
I just purchased The Body Image Workbook by Thomas Cash. My therapist has recommended that we do several of the activities together, but I have not started yet. I am waiting to hopefully receive some feedback on this workbook. Also, another fishy recommended The Food and Feelings Workbook by Karen Koenig. I haven't ordered this one yet and it has a summary on Gurze Books. Their website www.bulimia.com and they specialize in eating disorder books. Hope this helps. Take care.

I've heard that these are good books and have scanned through them at the library. I think that you can order them at www.bulimia.com and www.amazon.com Hope this helps.

I "third" the suggestion of The Don't Diet, Live-It! Workbook...It is a really good book!!
maybe I will pull that out of the bookshelf and start working on it again, it is really good. I am reading When Women Stop Hating Their Bodies along with the book club, and a "fun" book romance novel Beware of Doug so I get tied up with all this reading!
I will get back to the workbook though cause its great!

For anorexia and food phobias, I found "the Anxiety and Phobia Workbook" very helpful.
