"Toxic Parents"

Have any of you ever read the book "Toxic Parents" ? I got this the other day on clearance at Half-Priced Books .. I am going to start reading it (after much procrastinating!)

Yes, I have. It's really good and was very helpful for me, not only in terms of my understanding about how common it is for people to have experienced abusive parents, but also ways to heal from it. I bought it after a :fishy recommended it to me and then my T also recommended it.

Yup! My old trainer got the book when she was in day tx at Western Psyc and she gave it to me a few years ago. I was in a bad situation, but it definitely helped me make a little sense out of my parents and myself. I really think very highly of the book.

That book was a required reading for a HDFS course (child abuse and neglect). I really got a lot out of it. I thing anybody can get something from it, either from a research standpoint or a coming from a more personal view.
