Has anyone read this book and would be willingly to give a breif review?
Is it a very triggering one at all? etc.,
those sorts of questions.
Im looking for a book that really dives into the details and pain about living with an ED.
But yet one thats not too triggering like Wasted which I almost started reading until I hear dmore about it.
Like the book Stick Figure by Lori Gottlieb, I didn't find very triggering but I liked very much.
Any thoughts on this book though>

I guess my question is, why do you want to read about the pain and suffering of an ED?
I asked this question because my therapist always told me not to read the eating disorder books that are biographical, because we already know whats it like. we could write that book we are reading, so what is the point in reading it? Our diary, is a diary of an anorexic girl.
I guess her point is that these books can be triggering and competitive for our eating disorder.
i mean ive read these kinds of books. But sometimes i guess i have to look at what my motivation is for reading them? So i switch to a different section in Barnes and Noble, and try to make my life 'normal' and not focus on the ED in all aspects of it (if thats possible).
I dont know if i that makes sense.
just my two cents!

I agree with Runner gurl. I can't see any benefit of reading about being sick. If the book details recovery, that's different. But whenever I used to read about EDs, I was really just kind of wallowing in my sickness. Is there really any benefit for you? :challenge

I agree. And sometimes the books can even get a little "tippy"

I guess thats all true. Though I also have another reason than just reading them because I've had an ED, I want to become a pyschologist in eating disorders, and past books Ive read help me get the insight on others sufferings. But for now, you're right probably- I should lay off them for the time being.
