I have just started a series by Karen Kingsbury--I can't put it down. I've been reading inspirational books and ED books and the Bible and I wanted a change. I have found since entering recovery, I can't focus on novels like I used to--I used to read a book every couple days. I think the problem now is that I can't stand the material. This book is so different but yet still the same?!

The first book is "Redemption". Such a great change, and filled with the reality of tempations that we face everyday. (not necessarily ED related--but life challenges)

Try it!

I love Karen Kingsbury! I've read all of her books--and she has a lot! The library here had a lot of them, and then I went to the local bookstore and um...browsed...the books for hours at a time so I could read the others. He he.

I like how she writes about Christians struggling with issues that aren't usually discussed in mainstream Christianity. Abuse, depression, adiction, etc. One of her books even talks about self injury a little (It's called Divine, not part of a series). I read a blurb on the back of one of her books saying that she was going to explore other issues including eating disorders, but she hasn't written them yet. If she ever does, I'll be sure to let the bowl know.
