hey purple,
Have heard of the last two, however haven't read them. Bulimia/Anorexia looked really good, however I could be wrong. Life without ED was interesting and parts useful. I didn't find it particularly helpful, however I can see how it would be great for other people. The main thing it reminded me of is that there is a life after ED and having that was helpful, regardless whether I found strategies useful or not. I do have it on my bookshelf and found it good though so it's worth a read, especially when in recovery from ED.
Would love to hear views on the other three though as I haven't read them and love reading anything decent, thus if they're worth reading I'd like to know before I spend money on them.

Well I have finished this one:
A starving madness - tales of hunger, hope and healing in psychotherapy. Judith Ruskay Rabinor Ph.d
It was really good! I highly recommend. It is coming from the therapists point of view and can I think help anyone touched by ED's to hear how others have worked through it in therapy

I've heard of all of them, and read them all but the first. Life without Ed was to me, the most helpful and least triggering. Bulimia/Anorexia just wasn't super pertinent to my particular situation and underlying issues, but it was an interesting read and could be quite useful. A Starving Maddness was good, and it was bizarre to look at EDs from the therapist's point of view. It really helped me understand that underlying issues are underlying issues, no matter what your particular diagnosis was.

Purplefly,
Sorry it took me so long to see your post. I have read Life Without ED and have found it to not be triggering. Also it is a good book to reread for inspiration on your way to recovery. The chapters are short and you can read them in any order. Plus Jenni's humor is great! I hope that you find it as helpful as I have. Take care.
Hugs,
annebear PS I do believe that there have been several other older posts about this book...they may be able to provide you with more opinions.

Thanks lovely fishies! I found this book good in the sense of seperating the ED thoughts from my own and being able to see and try to empower my voice against it. I am now starting the Don't Diet Live It workbook.
