Hello Fishies,
I'm about half-way through this great book. So-far it's been an amazing read. But I have some questions that I'm hoping some of you might be able to help with. First..I totally don't understand the section on dressing for yourself and not dressing to appear "thin". Maybe this is an ED thing, the entire section baffled me. I mean why would I intentionally buy clothes that don't flatter my figure? Or is her point that if I see a item of clothing on a hanger I like I should get it b/c I like it regardless of whether it's flattering to my figure? Please someone help me shed some light on this area if you can! :wacky Second..I was near a panic attack (seriously my heart was actually racing when they were suggesting keeping all that food in the house) when they began talking about legalizing foods and "stockpiling". Has anyone had any success with this? Have you been able to make this work for you in the real world b/c it sounded to me like a giant orgy of b/p. :ummm Am I missing the point? Or is that the point...if the mystery/stigma of binge/trigger foods are removed by making them legal and keeping them around all the time then they become just regular old foods? Is that even possible??? I dunno...that doesn't seem like something I could ever do??? Have any of y'all actually been successful w/ this? I would love any suggestions!!!
Much love,
Ashley

Hi hun

Yes and yes - i think that is her point! We don't need to dress in kaftans/muu muus to hide ourselves and the principles of intuitive eating are that legalising food and learning to listen to your hunger signals and to distinguish these from non-physical hungers is the way out of binge/purge cycles! It does sound wacky huh! But you'll find many fishies here who swear by it.

All the best on your journey and keep reading!

Wiht love
