Do any of yall have any good suggestions for books or workbooks (preferable) for couples to use in a therapuetic setting? I would like my husband to have a better understanding of ED recovery and what an ED is. I find it hard to communicate that ED is not just about eating! I'm still learing the skills I need to communicate effectively!
I've found a couple of books on the Gurze site, "Honey Does This Make My Butt Look Big?", "ED's and Marital Relationships", and "Eating Disorders and Marriage" and was wondering if anyone else found them helpful?
Thanks,
Ashley

((((mlainbelle))))

I bought "Honey does this make........" I liked it and sure recognized myself in it's pages :sly It is very easy to read and I even got my book phobic husband to listen to some of it. It's not a book to make any major breakthrus. But I did see myself in it and I liked the advice that was given to the husband in what to say or not to say given the situation. I personally found it right on target.

Thanks Laura!

I was hoping someone had used that book. The explanation on Gurze seems to go along with what you said about it being relate-able but maybe not a huge breakthrough kind of book for an ED sufferer. I think my husband might get more out of it since it's more of a workbook than a "book" book. I don't think I could get him to sit down and read a whole book about ED!
