Hello,

I was wondering if anyone had read a very hungry girl by Jessica Weinner?

He also recently wrote "do i look fat in this"?

I haven't read Jessica's second book, but I loved A Very Hungry Girl. All the work she did (and is still doing) with teens and body image is very inspirational. I've gotten to meet Jess a few times and she's just as fun and outspoken as she comes across in her writing.

I've met Jess a couple of time, too- I think we were together once, Millie! :happy

I have her second book "Does this Make Me look fat?" Now that it's out in paperback, it has a different title...I think. Just search her name on Amazon.

I liked the second one a little better, basically due to the fact that it was a little more practical than the first. But I enjoyed A Very Hungry Girl because it really helped me realize that EDs come in all different shapes and sizes.

You can check out her website here (http://www.jessicaweiner.com)

Happy reading!

Here dad used to work for my company so I have her second book "Does This Make Me Look Fat" (and she even signed it). I like that it doesn't focus on the ED but instead talks about self love and acceptance. For me, it's easy to get caught up in the awe of people's struggle and recovery but this book isn't just talking about people who struggle with eds but people who equate their bodies with their value.

Good point, Mara. It also explains the role of culture in EDs, etc. She's just a good writer.
