Hi Everyone! I have read SO many self help books, and most of my "library" contains inspirational books (I DO read fiction though!)

Anyways, I thought I'd share some of my favorites.. I am going to list the title of the book, and write a little caption about what it's about.

These are in no particular order.

:butterfly :butterfly :butterfly

INNER HARVEST
*This is a daily meditation book (Hazelden Series) specifically for recovery from eating disorders

ONE DAY MY SOUL JUST OPENED UP
* This is a book that has guided questions in it to challenge your thinking about everyday aspects of life, but it has a good "spiritual" direction to it.. We used this book as a guide in our spirituality group while I was IP, and alot of us had someone from home send us a copy (LOL) It's great, especially if you are confused/struggling with questions regarding spirituality.

SOMETHING MORE: EXCAVATING YOUR AUTHENTIC SELF
* Not sure if this is how you spell the tittle, but it is written by Sarah Ban-Breathnach. I haven't read it in a while, but I remember I really loved it. She is a very talented writer, easy to read and very inspiring

DIARY OF AN EATING DISORDER
* A memoir of a girl who struggled chronicly with an eating disorder.. It was a very good book. ED books are tricky, some of them are lame, some of them are triggering, some of them are depressing, some of them are glorifying.. This one was definatly one of the better ones I have read

LIFE WITHOUT ED
* Christian singer/songwriter Jenni Schaefers long time battle, and how she recovered from her eating disorder.

IMAGINE A WOMAN INLOVE WITH HERSELF
* This is truly a celebration of what it's like to be a woman.. Not only a celebration, but permission in a way that I've never had the opportunity to experience before

LIVING WITH FEELING
* Book is written by Lucia Capacchione. Basically it's what it sounds like.. My therapist had me read it. When I baught it, it was only available in hardback and it was a bit pricey, but it is a great read !!

MIND OVER MOOD
* I used this book in treatment, and I have to say it HELPED ME SO MUCH !! I have a copy of it (It's a book/workbook) and it is alot of the essense of "Truth Vs. Lies"

And ofcourse, pretty much any book by SARK is a winner :yay

HAPPY READING

JeskiaBeth -

Not sure how I overlooked this when you initially posted it! You've listed some really good ones here, and a few that I think I may pick-up in the near future. Thanks for the info!!

Jess,

Thanks for the suggestions. I've read a few, but not most. I like workbooks just because they tend to make you think and work a little harder, but there are plenty of others!

I definitely want to look at "Mind Over Mood." Depression is causing me almost more grief than the ED right now, probably because I'm not really engaging in behaviors.

Hey Everyone, Happy reading :yay

Specialfishy, to answer your question, I have been IP several times, but the IP I was referring to that we used the book "One Day My Soul Just Opened Up" was at Renfrew, Florida (which was just over six years ago)

Much love everyone :lubdub
