Has anyone read this book? It was recommended to me by my therapist. I have ordered it off amazon its ment to be really helpful.
Its like a workbook with exercises for your mind in it to challenge negative thinking which is something I am terrible for. Mine arrives from amazon next week so will let you know how I find it although everyone ive spoken to whos read it said it helped loads xx

I've read it. Well, parts of.
I'm a clinical psychologist (just graduated with my Masters, working on my Ph.D.), and my Prof and boss is totally fond of it. She makes all her students and employes read this book.
I think it's a great book which - in a great but easy to understand way - shows how to challenge your thinking every day.

Well I am a few chapters into it and I already think it is brilliant. It shows you examples of thoughts/feelings charts etc which help you use other ways to cope with hard feelings and emotions and helps you to work through them and hopefully feel better about different situations.
It is written by two therapists and follows a couple of patients who they have helped overcome their problems it shows examples of conversations that happened in therapy and different things they learnt to help them cope.
I would def recommend it. xx

Another good book similar to this one is Food and Feelings by K. Koenig. It just came out (I'm only half way through it) but so far it is a REALLy helpful workbook!

food and feelings talks a lot about the main feelings people have trouble with: guilt, shame, anxiety, disappointment, loneliness, and why they make you focus on weight and food. The author is lighthearted and the exercises are really well explained and focused. Hope that helps!

My F&F workbook got delayed by Amazon...:cry Hopefully I'll have it in a week or two. I guess that's what I get for using a gift card and the cheap-o shipping. Alas.
But I've been using the workbook "Don't Let Emotions Run Your Life" with my T. It's awesome! I've been having a rough ride, feelings wise, but that has helped me get more centered. It's based on DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and so I can more easily realize what my wise mind would tell me to do. I can't say enough about this book.
I'll have to look into Mind Over Mood. I still have a gift card to a local bookstore.
Ya think I like to read? Do ya? Do ya?
