Mary Jane - Living through Anoxeria & Bulimia
Sancia Robinson and Wendy Harmer
ISBN - ****-********-************************-****
They made a book and a play from this (which I saw) and it is such an amazing story. Extremely insightful, sometimes sad sometimes funny, was a big inspiration to me when younger.

yes the play was very good! she seems to be an amazing person. i found the book was a bit of a "how to" for bulimia, listing how to binge and what to binge on...i'm sure she meant well but it could easily be a huge trigger for someone verging on an eating disorder. i think it encouraged my anorexia. i remember that i wanted to read it all the time, like i was studying it. my ED couldn't get enough of it. i bought it because i wanted to understand what i was experiencing and it did educate me but it also educated my eating disorder on how to control my life more. does that make sense?

Hi there... you know what... you actually made me remember something.
I too studied the thing! It did help me behave in ways as it told me almost how I should, though I always knew the intentions were not that... hmm.. maybe I should recant my endorsement.

I read it over and over - but unfortunately for the wrong reasons. It triggered me something shocking! I think if I read it now, I would still be triggered. There is a bit of mention of behaviours and thoughts. So caution to those not on the far side of recovery. I also never read the ending of these books - I didnt want to know how to recover.
Funny thing is - now, thats all I do. Get these books about personal struggles with anorexia, and only read the recovery section.
How is the ending?
