Nirvana?

So do any of you like the rock band Nirvana? :beatnik I always wish that I was actually alive when they started - and a teenager when the music was top form. But now I just have to cope with the fact that Kurt Cobain will not be releasing any more albums... :ohboy
Any favourite songs by them? Their music has helped a lot in recovery to make me feel stronger.

I really like Nirvana. I was eighteen when he died and I dyed the front of my hair flamingo pink because Kurt Cobain had done so on one of his CD covers!!! :winky I like the song Lithium, too.

Wow, I'm old! I was in my twenties when Nirvana hit the charts! :zoinks I'm still a big fan of that band & wonder what sort of music Kurt would be doing now.

I love Nirvana. They're one of my favorite bands and Kurt... oohh, I just adore him even now after he's long gone. There was something about those sweaters and that hair that just had me smitten even though I was young when they were big and really young when he died.

My favorite Nirvana albums are "Nevermind" and "Unplugged in New York." My favorite songs by them are problby "Smells Like Teen Spirit," "Come As You Are," "Something in The Way," "Pennyroyal Tea," and "Jesus Don't Want Me For A Sunbeam."

What a talent that guy was... question: do you think he really killed himself or do you think it was Courtney that did it? This is an ongoing debate even now, more than a decade after his death.

I used to love Nirvana. I kind of outgrew them when I reached my late teens (&had learned all their songs on my guitar!!), I started listening more to Tool and Nine Inch Nails, but I still listen to Nirvana sometimes. I used to sit playing Unplugged in New York for hours on end b/c there was some interesting songs on there. My fave songs are Lithium, Dumb, The Man Who Sold The World, Come As You Are and Something in the Way.

I don't think there's a shred of evidence to support the Courtney killed him theory. It's the same as "Jim Morrison is alive & works in a gas station in Abilene, Texas" theory. Interesting to some but not true.

Their awkwardly titled but brilliant cd "Incesticide" is often overlooked. I think it's got some great music on it.

i adore nirvana...was eleven years old when teen spirit came out and it broke my world in the most beautiful way...love the voice, kind of feel like kurt screamed when i couldn't and that's why it meant so much...remember when he died too :angel

favourite album has got to be in utero, though there isn't a bad one out of the bunch..."you know you're right" is so gorgeous, makes you wonder if they were only getting better...

I used to love Nirvana.. A friend of mine was actually at their MTV unplugged concert. I remember when I heard about the suicide. I was in the locker rooms after gym class and it came on over the TV. It was so sad!! While I don't listen to their CD's much anymore, I do occasionally..
