Hi :bowl

Is there any album(s) or song(s) which has been intrumental in your recovery? :notes
For me they are:

:sun Sufjan Stevens- Illinoize

:sun Rufus Wainwright-Want One

For some reasons these albums really resonate with me.. Both are very melodic and thoughtful. :love They just make me feel really good inside.

What about you?

Love,

Hey girl! :gimmehug
Sufjan Stevens and Rufus Wainwright are two of my favorite musicians! Both of their albums are truely inspiring. For me there have been a number of albums that have gotten me through some tough times and kept me motivated towards recovering. They are:

Most of Ani Difranco... esspcially "Not A Pretty Girl" and "Imperfectly." I cannot even tell you how much these albums spoke to me when I was at my sickest. Difranco's lyrics really helped me see things differently.

PJ Harvey's music, esspecially on the album "Stories From the City, Stories From the Sea." This also was for whatever reason really helpful to me.

Elliott Smith... my all time favorite writer of music... has always been special to me, and even though a lot of his songs are depressing they still helped me throughout my recovery. I would say the album "XO" was esspcially important, although I am not sure how because for the most part, his songs are really sad.

Tori Amos's "Little Earthquakes..." been there for me for a long time, and helped me through a lot of crap. Her music is beautiful and this whole album is about healing.

Great post by the way... :gimmehug

:love "Move Along" ~ The All-American Rejects

This is definitely my number one recovery song :winky. It gives me the motivation to keep going, even when things get really hard.

I just bought Sufjan Stevens Illinoise... I freaking LOVE it :-D

I'm obsessed with Barlowgirl as well. So good. And paramore... I'm not sure if paramore is recovery stuff... but the more I listen to it the more I relate to it.

Geez its four thirty by me! I should sleep! But I'm still wide awake :bounce
