I recently started taking a Vipassina Meditation class at our Unitarian church. It is a Buddist meditation. I found it difficult to stay present and in the moment, but I think it will be good for me to learn to be present and to stay with my feelings.

Congrats on beginning the class! :yay

Meditation is just like any other spiritual practice - the point is not to be perfect but to strive for improvement & development. I have difficulty staying awake during vipassana meditation b/c I equate relaxation w/ sleep, & thus fall asleep when I reach a certain state of relaxation. I've been told this will pass, which keeps me hopeful. With enough time & effort, staying in the present moment will become easier for you (& me b/c I also struggle w/ this :grin). Lots of :gimmehug & :stars

That sounds really interesting, I hope you let us know how it goes. I've never heard about that kind of meditation, but I can truly say that guided meditation (in the form of self-hypnosis and similar) changed my life, maybe even saved my life. It first gave me the belief that I can create my own reality, which was the beginning of the end for anorexia and all the negative ideas that had led to it. It lifted me into a completely different mindset. I really hope you have a great experience too. :supergrin
